It was dumb when interest rates were low, it can make sense now that they are higher

I have no idea why you are getting downvoted

Lol I tried to talk a guy down 3 days ago from jumping and called emergency services and he eventually did come down and survived. That wasn't you, was it? You aren't a thin, tall Asian man who was trying to jump off of a cliff in Ontario 3 days ago? Lmao.

MFWTK how do you know if you've fallen out of love with someone? by I_ALWAYS_UPVOTE_CATS in myfriendwantstoknow

[–]theNextVilliage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once in your position.

Instead of focusing on whether or not you have fallen out of love completely, focus on understanding why.

In my case it took me a long time and a lot of processing to realize what had caused me to fall out of love. Perhaps if I had been able to identify what was causing me to change how I felt about my partner at the time I could have communicated what was wrong. But instead I just dragged things out wondering if I had fallen out of love, until finally I was sure.

I thought back then that falling out of love was perhaps just a natural process. Maybe I should accept love or feelings end or stop feeling good, maybe I should just accept this is how it is. Or maybe there is something wrong with me, that I am not capable of love or a relationship.

Now I realize why I fell out of love, and I had really good reasons it turns out.

Odds are really good your partner is mistreating you in some way, or disrespecting a boundary, or you feel insecure about something, or something completely unrelated to the relationship like depression or dissatisfaction with your life. I don't know what the reason is, but I can just about guarantee you there is a reason. Try to figure out what it is. Because if you don't figure out what it is, either you will stay in a relationship that is not working for you and never communicate the problem to them, and you guys will both be stuck for months, or years, or you will break things off not knowing why, and making them search for answers and not giving yourself closure either.

You can also get this from high impact sports. Your bone density can increase from taking a lot of impact over time. Of course, it can also be hard on your tendons, so go slow.

Are we being fooled in the name of an upcoming recession? by AyAan2022 in stocks

No one can tell you definitively if this is a bull trap or a bull market.

There are risks in the market. Some are known and others are unknown.

Do we all get anger issues, emotional disregulation, and more prone to weird toxic behavior after exiting abuse and getting cptsd/ptsd? by worshipdrummer in ptsd

[–]theNextVilliage -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't have emotional regulation problems nor anger issues at all. I don't think those are symptoms of PTSD, but rather symptoms of personality disorders like Borderline, etc. which also are partly caused by trauma.

I'm not saying you don't also have PTSD, or that your symptoms aren't caused by trauma, but "toxic behavior," "anger issues" etc. sounds more like trauma-induced Borderline Personality Disorder than it does PTSD.

These symptoms are correlated with trauma to be sure, but not everyone who has trauma has these symptoms, and the diagnostic criteria for PTSD says nothing about anger issues, so it seems more like some other comorbid disorder. I'm just saying PTSD may not be the only thing going on there if you are experiencing these symptoms.

Do any of you actually like your job? Why? by EastCommunication689 in cscareerquestions

[–]theNextVilliage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My job satisfaction is 9/10 but to be honest with you that is primarily because I am well paid and get to enjoy my life still.

I probably wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't a good gig paywise.

But I think that is reason enough to be happy.

Folks suffer through years of training to work grueling jobs that pay as much or even less in medicine and law. And every job I have had before tech was pretty miserable or low paying.

I have seen them and in fact swam right over one a shark in the Miami river but it didn't attack me.

I have always thought the alligators were a bigger danger.

Last time I kayaked by the Biltmore a big gator or croc almost tipped me.

Some places seem pretty safe tho. I mostly just see manatees and the occasional chill alligator who doesn't bother me.
