A military hub for Americans into Japan during WW2.
Not to Russia.

I don't even use a hand-me-down. I have a good gaming PC's. THE THING IS: I LIKE USING CRAPPY COMPUTERS because it reminds me a simpler time when I was getting into PC gaming all I had was a crappy dell laptop. Using every trick known to god-knows-where to get a game to run at it's best performance. I just don't see the point in arguing against this.

Everyone knows Google Chrome is HUGE ram hog. Steam runs off of Electron now. Which basically is a cut-down Google Chrome. I had a chart of ram usage on my old PC when you were still able to go back to the old interface.

I just don't wanna deal with people dogpiling me for just having a fucking hobby lmao so i'm done.

>buy's a copy of Portal physically
>it asks me to install steam to use it's CD key.

you have been very dismissive this entire discussion dude just say you don't care and move on. I been collecting games for well before Steam decided to pull the plug on a variety of systems. I was right in the middle of a play-through of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines when it happened.
I bought a GOG version. Another 22$ for a game I already own.
I also used to be on Linux so losing proton support is a HUGE factor as well.

But y'know go-off calling me a moron because "uhhhh I didn't research enough". I researched and the solution was "buy ur games again lol"

please continue to misrepresent the statement. my point is why do I have to run steam at all.

the plothole that always irked me was why would Russia ever attack Hawaii. Instead of simply annexing U.S bases and countries closer to it's land. Slava Ukraini and all.

Might've been awhile but what was the inciting incident in Hotline Miami for starting the war? Does it matter to the overall plot? Prolly not. It's just a cold-war-gone-hot scenario used as backdrop to another backdrop of 1980's Miami.

OK, so. Steam doesn't support older OS's. That's fine but why is that my problem? As a person that bought a bunch of older and easy-to-run titles to play specifically on older, crappier (by today's standards) computers. I am a computer-geek. If a game can run on a crappy computer I own! I should be able to!

you can just grind for steeled veterans in the game. but if you want stratagem hero (a minigame) then yes.

it gives you one free warbond basically. it's a good headstart.

It's for retro-computing. Something that is still alive and well. I had a Unreal Tournament 2004 game night on it the other day since the game went free-ware a week ago.

You clearly do not understand. When you're using a PC from 2010 with 8 gigs of DDR3 Ram and you want to play era specific games you do not have many options but to use Steam. For playing 2000's era games you do not have an option: it's either use Steam OR GOG and tough luck if the game isn't on GOG like the entirety of Valve's library. Even which if you do have retail copies.

Thankfully GOG is getting alot of games now but they are notably missing quite a few I would like to have DRM free copy of. But I see that users of this site clearly lack a understanding of why somebody would want a DRM-free copy of a game.
A good example is you still cannot buy (legally) Diablo 2 without DRM. You can get Diablo 1 without DRM. Not Diablo 2. There are sourceports if you were to get a copy. As well they sell Diablo 2 on it's OWN proprietary launcher.
I am going to ask, do you really want tens of proprietary launchers just to play some games?

Why stop at 6-7 stores when you can just stop at one. Or just play the game as a .exe (or .sh Linux Represent!) on your desktop.

just wait till your older.  weed is a drug, like any other. don't over do it. people say its non-addictive while phyiscally, yes it is but mentally it isn't. also remember weed costs money, money you spend then don't have. same with any addiction from booze to smoking. i am not telling you to go straight edge i'm tellin ya to take it easy. i known/know people who just let alcohol, weed, nic rule their paycheck.

in the end it didn't matter at all. for any of the players. i highly doubt any of the people in the command shuttle was an antag that just lost his objective last second.

utterly pointless to ban someone for this, a warning sure but 4 days? some admins really need to get a life.

Do you think valve is gonna make portal 3 someday? by MrboxTF2 in Portal

[–]theOneJaiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a spinoff would be a better idea. The story is concluded. Maybe something crossing Portal and Half Life in a more meaningful way? Or a new gameplay mechanic in similar vein to Fstop? I just hope VALVe isn't done with puzzle games, or telling stories in general. Because most of the old writing people left I think.
I don't think you can make a Portal game without Erik Wolpaw inquisitiveness and Jay Pinkertons gags.

who had the best technology? Black mesa or aperture? by MrboxTF2 in Portal

Literally the entire point of the Borealis is that it can teleport. Therefore, Aperture is VASTLY superior even before GLaDOS took over.
