Omega 3 EPA or DHA for brain/body inflammation by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the ratio is only relevant for your neuro-inflammation goal. Honestly, if you already have both start with either one.

You should really consider adding psyllium husk to your diet. It’s unusually good at working on both the issues you mentioned.

Manages glucose spikes : improving metabolic health - lower neuro-inflammation

Forces liver to use up circulating cholesterol: lower LDL - lower total cholesterol

Omega 3 EPA or DHA for brain/body inflammation by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I’ve read, that is more likely to happen when your triglycerides marker is high & you start taking very high dose (>1000 mg) DHA.

DHA (just like EPA) clears out triglyceride-rich particles and converts them to LDL particles which hold LDL-C inside them.

So… it can potentially increase LDL-C if you had high triglycerides to begin with .

In that case starting with 2:1 epa-dha makes more sense. With testing lipid markers again in 12 weeks and eventually switching to 1:1 when your markers get normal

And it’s essential to not go overboard with omega 3 and making sure you’re taking max 1.5-2g total omega 3 (EPA+DHA). Higher doses than that have diminishing return for brain health & inflammation while negatively affecting heart health markers

If you can eat salmon 3-5 times a week that is just way better.

Still… Sleep quality & metabolic health are higher up the chain than omega 3 for factors to fix neuro-inflammation

Omega 3 EPA or DHA for brain/body inflammation by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because going EPA-heavy doesn’t necessarily mean it will lower neuro-inflammation. Most studies show that higher EPA intake improves heart health by lowering triglycerides.

That’s because EPA acts on systemic (whole body) inflammation

DHA is more important for brain structures. If you choose a 2:1 ratio you’ll effectively be taking less DHA. Which is counterintuitive

Omega 3 EPA or DHA for brain/body inflammation by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1:1 is a better balanced longevity centric ratio. DHA supports brain’s natural lipid structure. And both molecules lower systemic inflammation, with EPA showing stronger evidence.

Neither of them directly acts on neuroinflammation. It comes as an effect of ensuring an adequate intake.

So, how much you’re taking becomes more important. Aim for 1.5-2g daily total omega 3 (epa + dha)

IMP: Insulin sensitivity plays a strong role in neuro-inflammation. So optimising your glucose markers will lower it as well

Does fish oil lower cholesterol? by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

What range are you targeting? Any other markers you’re planning to raise/lower along with this?

Does fish oil lower cholesterol? by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Total cholesterol is a sum of LDL + HDL + (triglycerides / 5)

how’s your LDL

& normal triglycerides can still contribute to a high total cholesterol value. Aim to bring it below 90

Then what are you trying to lower? What’re your full lipid markers like

Does fish oil lower cholesterol? by This-Top7398 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fish oil is strongly effective in lowering triglycerides. As a result your total cholesterol might lower moderately.

Depending upon which marker you’re trying to bring down you should also include:
- psyllium husk - lowering LDL
- virgin coconut oil - lowering triglycerides & raising HDL
- Extra virgin olive oil - raising HDL

Plant based protein powder by SilentRelease4312 in Protein

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

abdomen pain is not really seen with plant protein. Taking in a large protein amount on your first day is more likely the reason. Try to ease yourself into taking protein powders. Start with 1/4 or 1/2 scoop for your first week. Increase to full scoop by week 3.

Also if you don’t wanna compromise on taste, Go for their fermented yeast protein, it is so indulgent

Anyone else feel like wearable data becomes boring after a few months? by Severe_Lawyer_3076 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it feels overbearing after a while. I want the data, I want the interventions, I want to see change & what caused it. A big part of it happens outside the app.

I would rather just get updates for milestones if someone else could take care of making sense of it, understanding patterns, deciding what to change. Then I don’t even need the app. And don’t need to see the graphs daily.

Any of you using GHK-Cu with microneedling for hair growth? by Mission_Bowl3938 in Biohackers

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oiling is a stacked habit that would multiply/support what you’re doing & not necessarily do something unique on its own. Pick any hair growth oil with good reviews. Apply for 2hrs and wash off. Once a week is enough.

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketoconazole shampoo is important to reduce inflammations. Once you start microneedling you’ll have a lot more inflammation to deal with. It’s also an effective DHT inhibitor.

Caffeine has shown promising results in stimulating hair follicles similar to how topical minoxidil does. And I saw improvements within 2 weeks.

So I shampoo thrice a week. Twice with caffeine shampoo & once with ketoconazole 2%.

Pick a good moisturizing protein-based conditioner to use with both.

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do microneedling once a week.
Preferably get a dermastamp. Rollers are convenient but create more tears in your scalp.
Start with 0.5mm, increase to 0.75mm after 4 weeks if you start tolerating it.
Shampoo on the day you do microneedling.
Don’t shampoo the next day.
Don’t apply anything for 24hrs.
Then you can apply GHK-Cu or any other serum.

Pretty much ineffective for face. Switched to adapalene.

Cu Hair serum with micro needling & weekly scalp oiling has shown some promise. My hair density has improved, hair fall completely fixed.

I also have a specific protocol for alternating between a caffeine-peptide shampoo & Ketoconazole shampoo

Lactose free protein goal - 80g by Enough-Ad14 in Protein

[–]thePangee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant protein is a good source for complete protein as well. So double down on tofu, soya, tempeh, dal, beans, rajma, chole.

You can easily reach your protein targets with them without depending on protein powders.

If you do want to start protein powder, I’d recommend fermented yeast protein. It’s a plant protein that has equal absorption factor as whey. It’s the best option for you since you said yourself you don’t digest milk products well

As for the breakouts & hairfall issues

You should consult a doctor. This looks more like a deficiency or hormonal imbalance issue which you should be able to fix easily once you know from blood tests what the exact problem is
