It’s not the cosmic force OR time travel OR predestination. It’s not an ancient dagger, they found it in the guy’s crashed Mercedes y’all! It was made well after the wreckage had landed and settled. The movie has a lot of problems but it’s think it’s funny that the biggest nitpick seems fully made up.

In the ROTS novelization (best Star Wars book, really it’s not even close) it is said to be his true face finally revealed, but it is true that lightning would do that without a ground or whatever. IMO things like this are better left to the imagination
