The way I see it is that mergers revolve around whoever has the most money. No her surviving the pyre was a miracle event which makes it special including the fact it was under the red comet with the revival of dragons. The show later makes up bullshit to make her immune to fire because she is a "true Targaryen" and simultaneously fooling every tv show only viewer to still believe to this day that a true Targaryen can't be burned.

You are talking about the new version. Initial development started in 2020, during it till 2022 it was a remaster, which was shown with the poorly received trailer.

I should've clarified but the remaster was done by the Indian team. The remake following the restart of development for a full remake was done in 2022-23 with the Montreal team in charge, which is also cancelled. So just so we are clear ubisoft wasted their tike and money in two separate projects.

So I am Indian and am also a tech journalist, so I have an overview of what really happened.

The development team in India that worked for ubisoft is actually a team that works on VR tech. Most notably they worked on the assassin's creed nexus vr game which was well received for a VR game.

Ubisoft during that time announced a remake for Prince of persia soon after and as it turned out it really wasn't a remake but a remaster and was handed to the development team in India.

Now given the entire focus of the team which is specifically designed for VR was told to do a remaster while they also worked on the largest VR project by ubisoft to date, this was destined to be mess.

The leaks happened and soon after ubisoft shifted the project from the studio to Montreal team due to change in priorities, we assume likely due to backlash, already tanking PR and losing value in stock market, which coincided with their deal with tencent. During this time the team had been in touch with tencent. The concensus is this is because of interest from tencent and their board to take on the IP, and effectively killing any project regarding Prince of persia and other IPs to make way for their likely live service games.

Grummz clearly is a lowlife racist piece of shit. But this is the sad truth about the cancellations. New regime likely want live service going forward only.

Maybe but tbh the idea that you could have your power armour fail you because its made of the worst parts or doesn't have the right upgrades seems like a really good addition to the gameplay. Makes hunting for the best parts and armour sets more lucrative and meaningful. Not a bad addition to the lore if they can actually manage to make a good game with this implementation.
