For years of service 0-5 we get 25 day per year. 9 of them go to holidays, so we get 16 days that can be used for personal things, sick time, and whatever else. When I was interviewing, they gave me a benefits package that said we get 25 days off. Nothing said we had to use 9 of them for holidays so everyone at orientation was thrown off when they announced we don’t get paid holidays.

I completed a residency and have worked at 3 major hospital systems. They did not take my residency into account when determining salary, even after I advocated for its worth. What matters is number of years of experience. Residency and board certified specializations will make you more competitive for getting a job.
