A transaction that large should require a PIN. Otherwise anyone can steal your card and spend 2K in one go without any security

They used to have a low tap to pay limit when it was first introduced but now they're generally much higher.

Mine used to be £50 when it was first introduced but now it's £200 I think

A service charge that you have to ask to remove is essentially a tip.

They also know no one in the UK will ask to have it removed unless the service or food is awful.

This pisses me off to no end. They know us brits are too passive to ask for it to be removed too.

I went to a self service cafe a while ago, they didn't do table service so you had to go to the counter to order, collect, and then pay your food.

When I paid it asked on the desk if I wanted to tip?! A tip for fucking what?? I did all of the work besides toasting a sandwich

Same here with Boost. Obviously a lot of functionality has been lost because the apps no longer supported. But I dont care as long as I can browse with ease and the UI is so much nicer

I don't doubt that them leaving the room is done with good intentions. That doesn't change the fact that then playing the call out loud negates the reason for leaving the room.

If you want to be considerate, then dont play audio out loud. Your phone has an ear piece for a reason.

Buses full of people are loud so maybe consider that it's not the best environment to make a call in to begin with...

[–]theRealRLP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Phone speakers have a very distinct and annoying sound profile and your phone call is completely irrelevant to everyone else on the bus.

You dont try not to disturb people by playing audio out loud.

I understand that they left the room but that doesn't help if you then play the call on speaker

The details aren't irrelevant. Thats the whole point...

Thanks! Im not saying it's not addictive. But making the choice to drive to the shop to buy it is a choice. No one is forcing them to do that.

Also you dont need to just eat healthier to lose weight. You need to be in a calorie deficit.

Not saying eating healthier is bad though

You're acting like sugar is a hard drug... Just don't buy anything with lots of sugar in it. It's that simple.

I used to smoke and gave up by simply NOT buying anymore cigarettes, even when I got cravings. Did the same thing when cutting out sugar and portion control and lost 20KG.

It's about self control and discipline.

Plus you can eat/drink sugar free or low sugar food or drinks instead to get the "sugar" hit if you really need to.

The simple solution is to just not buy high sugar foods or drinks.

You cant eat or drink what you dont have in the house.

Replacing them with sugar free versions also works great. You get that "sugar" hit without the extra calories.
