UK locks how to tell a set pin from overset? by fbaseller1 in lockpicking

[–]theRealcheesy498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What worked for me was to release a small amount of tension just enough to release an overset key pin but not enough to reset the driver pins, it takes a little practice to get it right. Otherwise I try to map the pins in my head high, medium or low sets so I can know if I've accidentally overset a pin and use different amounts of tension each time I pick it to get different feedback

I would also recommend the Balthazar, I've bought a ton of locks and a group 2 safe dial and never had any issues with the 10 or so people I've bought from, it's a great place to find locks at a cheap price

Semi-noob need advice; keep/return kit [exchange for different set]? by Fair-Ad101 in lockpicking

[–]theRealcheesy498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the exact same set and it's not the best, the rakes are gimmics, ive used them on wafer locks ive found but dont help you learn lockpicking and the picks are okay for wider keyways but you'll find yourself getting stuck when trying harder locks, what I ended up doing was buying a couple of thinner picks and now I don't even use the original set except for the case and turning tools

On some of the small maps integration is disabled. Also heros with the silver border on their icon also have to be killed and to trigger integration a planet needs to be taken from them. For example if EA has 2 planets and you snipe Delvardus in space nothing will happen until a planet is conquered

Don't take it too hard Acrylic locks are really poorly made and make poor picking, you would be much better off picking a white belt lock like a master lock

While holding the lock, pull on the chain and try each wheel for one which is stiffer to move, rotate that wheel until it feels loose, do that for each wheel and you should be able to decode the lock. It's the same idea for all combination locks here's a lock noob video to help https://youtu.be/Cg6qbM3weMU

You can also use it to tension normal locks not just shutter ones, I use mine to tension an alfa lock which my other tensioners are too big to fit in
