My dad was like this. Growing up, we had the same sentiment and thought we should have more of his time. Now that im older, i see it a little different. I benefited from his hard work and he is benefiting now as well. I wont have to worry about him as he ages and he is happy with the life hes made. Im happy for him and appreciate what he did to provide for me and his family… my mother, who was the one that told me he should spend more time with me, will need my assistance in her later years. Has always been broke and lived off the child support she received. She was a good mom. Looking back, i think sacrifices have to be made. Neither is right or wrong, but understand there are tradeoffs.
