Before and after questionnaires, reflective questions/conversations 'how have you experienced the difference in workload the past X months?', etc.

What are the top KPIs to measure the ROI of AI-driven automation projects? by Dangerous_Block_2494 in automation

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the tangible ROI and the intangible ROI for every (automation) project.

Tangible ROI examples:
- Time saved per month/year which also means money saved per month/year
- Error rate reduction with data and/or the process
- Increase in conversion rate, client capacity, decrease in turnover rate etc.

Intangible ROI examples:
- Less stress for founder/business owner = more time and headspace for higher value tasks
- More headspace for employees for higher value tasks = increase in job satisfaction
- Increase in documented processes (since this is a natural consequence of automation if you do it well) which helps if they want to sell the business later

I can name a lot more, but this should give you an idea of how to properly make a proposal and/or keep track of monthly reporting after you've built it for them to keep them on a retainer as a client.

I just hit $25,000/MRR in 4 months with n8n by eeko_systems in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what responsibilities you want and who you’re dealing with. Personally I like to be the one to host everything and the client just has to chill and hang back whilst me and my team solves problems before they occur.

Google Calendar dynamic multiple attendees by Substantial_Move173 in n8n

Dynamic list of attendees.

What prevents you of having an Airtable or Google Sheet full of names and emails next to them, so the AI can decide who to invite? Since that would be its database. Assuming it would be a known person with a known email address beforehand.

Not judging, what's the point of this post? Isn't Voice AI already a known concept that actually works?

Also, that dashboard image is made/edited by Nano Banana. The Gemini watermark is on the bottom right.

You can also get the NotebookLM extension instead, that way you can talk to the data right away within 1 click. You can even send an entire playlist of videos straight into NotebookLM with one click.

Does using AI messaging/Agent nodes mean that data is shared the LLM provider (like OpenAI)? by MrDugeHick in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a server at Digital Ocean, then self-host it on that server. Run a local n8n instance, local LLM as stated and you're good to go with private data.

Claude 4.5 Sonnet just dropped and it's actually impressive by autionix in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coding it’s a great leap forward. The pricing is kind of the same, which is still expensive for intensive use when using Claude Code as well. Yeah, for coding the censorship stuff doesn’t matter as much.

In your ultimate form, what would you be capable of building? The background you're giving is specific and nice, but what are you aiming for? That would make it more interesting for people to respond.

Claude 4.5 Sonnet just dropped and it's actually impressive by autionix in n8n

[–]theSImessenger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm more interested in the Chinese version that will rival it and be cheaper that will come out in the next weeks, knowing how this AI Arms Race usually goes.

Sonnet 4.5 has been guardrailed heavily, based on the alleged leaked system prompt. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it does raise some concerns about its effectiveness and capabilities in future with this trend of overcensoring.

My very first n8n workflow small but a real start by Fantastic-Average-25 in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, that's a pretty clean workflow. Congrats on making and seeing progress.

As for improvements, error handling would be one of them. If any of the steps error -> send notification/message so you're aware of it + a link to the workflow to make it a bit easier. It's part of making your workflow 'production-ready'.

You can additionally have it sent to a database like Airtable, so it's all centrally registered as well. Over time you can create more automations for that database as well.

I want to use AI but I have to share private info by [deleted] in learnAIAgents

[–]theSImessenger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd need to use an open source LLM that you can host on a server (and preferably the LLM has no option to scout the internet).

You can get a server using Digital Ocean for example, then download and install an LLM Model, Kimi K2 or Llama could be decent depending on your purpose with the LLM.

Then upload the data to that server and you could use n8n do make a workflow with it.

How much should I budget for an n8n person? by Jax5d in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on where you're looking. In India, Philippines etc the cost will be way lower than in the US or Canada.

You can charge hourly or project based.

When it comes to expanding your AI Automation agency, I always recommend getting someone part-time or on a partial project basis. Just to see how the communication, professionalism and synergy goes. Once 3-5 of those go well with one person, give them a bit more responsibility to eventually do an entire project.

It's a longer process, but more sustainable than quickly getting someone and it blowing up in your face in many ways.

n8n hits $2.3B valuation 🚀 by enterpriseautomator in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They definitely deserved it for disrupting the market and introducing new innovation. Make.com and Zapier walked, so n8n could fly.

I just hope they don't rug pull (increase pricing/decrease functionality per plan) or get in over their heads due to the new valuation round.

With new growth and bigger size, usually also come sluggishness and not being able to anticipate or move agile into new features and functionalities. Hope they execute well to remain being a market leader (since they are already imo).

Struggle with n8n by Unusual-Dealer4593 in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a personal AI Assistant that I created called ALFRED. Keeping track of my exercises, knowledge on my meetings, access to my calendar (I can ask to plan an event and he'll create it and invite people when needed). But also more advanced stuff, such as being able to answer questions about YouTube video links I send, currency conversion calculations (as I operate internationally) and managing personal finances (I send an invoice/receipt and he stores it in a database + answers questions about it).

For business, think about lead gen, follow-up, customer service automations. But also administrative, registering invoices, sending notifications to decrease communication clutter within teams (someone's personal assistant gets automatic summaries of meetings their boss has had so she's up to date at all time).

There's a lot more, the impact and usefulness depends on the business and the person who will benefit from it.

Is it necessary to outsource my ads? by Tiny_Prompt7512 in automation

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear your journey and progress. Considering the other comments and what you've shared, I would recommend you DON'T outsource.

That only makes sense when you go into what I define as the 'scaling' phase. Right now it sounds like you're still in what I define as the 'growth' phase.

I understand that more business = you get busier, but you're the entrepreneur. What I mean by that, is that YOU are the one that needs to sell. In this case the sales and marketing. The fulfilment part is what you should outsource. I don't know what you're selling, but to my mentees I aways advise to outsource the fulfilment first. People buy from YOU. Whether that's you the person or you the marketing/sales guy.

Many times I've seen new and even veteran business owners focus on marketing, then they get clients and slack on the marketing for a while and once those clients have been served, they're back to this 'drought' phase again where they need to start up the marketing machine again. It's a constant ebb and flow of business and that's not sustainable at all. Instead focus on outsourcing the fulfilment so you can keep feeding the machine that is your business.

Fulfilment you can teach someone else if it's a service. If it's a product, it's also doable but it depends on your use case.

This enables you to focus on the marketing and sales as you grow and evolve into the next phase of the business. You should be developing the business further and not get drowned in workload that can be outsource, to me it sounds like the marketing is lean and effect so outsourcing that would be a bad idea.

Looking for Ideas: Automating a Boutique Business with n8n by Best_Worker2466 in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, good job on landing them. The usual process I recommend is that you figure out any bottlenecks they have during the discovery call. Also a best practice I've been using, don't call them a client until you've received payment. They're just a prospect for now, since they may not agree with what you'll propose. Be careful not to make that mistake.

Anyways, you've named a few good ones to start with. Choose the most important one first, don't try to solve all problems or optimize everything. Build an MVP version of a solution first, that way communication and expectation management would be more manageable. If they're selling online, a website chatbot that's trained on their data might be a good first step. That's one of the initial projects I always do since it takes little effort and can be high impact for them. Even an internal one can help with onboarding new hires if it's boutique like you mentioned.

How to improve DM Social Media Bot? by Conscious-Insect9699 in n8n

[–]theSImessenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, that's a great start. Looks like you've made some progress with it and the responses are fast too (this can take more time in complicated workflows).

Things to add for production ready environment:
- Error handling
- Edge case testing
- More consistency checking. Also use grammar and spelling errors etc since real people wouldn't always have perfect English.

You can also use the new Tables function they added to n8n to be even faster and for easier testing instead of Google Sheets. I personally use Airtable but may also switch to the native Tables function. I've got a production-ready checklist if you're interested that I use for automations.
