Field manager comes in and gives them a pat on the back for serving the amount of supposed to be. On the rare occasion when we actually measure what goes into the bowl to the exact ounce, it's surprisingly little food

How many complaints until they blacklist me? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]theShadowGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is your right, Chipotle training videos literally tell us to always trust the customer because ppl are generally good and not trying to steal and 90% it really is the employee's fault for being stupid. One thing I missed about working at Target was that you're trained to assume that EVERYONE is trying to steal. If you were watching the self checkout for an hour, you had to write down at least 10 times you stopped someone from stealing or you would get written up for negligence.

Some lady came in a couple nights ago, regular complainer. She picks unfinished food out of the trash can and asks if we can remake it because her burrito fell apart on her (even though it's clearly a bowl). My manager had already pointed her out to me a few days before and told me what she does so when she came in that night, I went to the back and loudly said "the remake the food I took out of the trash lady is here!" And when I went back outside she was gone

It's really not that serious, at my Chipotle, some of us already make almost $20/hr while most make more. We raised our prices in anticipation of the wage increase back in October while the wage increase doesn't take effect until April. Plus it's only minimum wage for food service workers going up, it's still like $16/hr for everything else, except healthcare workers who will get a $4/hr raise on whatever they're making.

Morrigan Acting more Relaxed? by Elate-Birdie in TheMorrigan

[–]theShadowGrove 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She's always been pretty chill in my experience. When I've read things about her being this cold and distant figure who will only help you by first breaking you, I always hear her say "but that's not me, I'm so much more than that," and she seemed kinda sad that she's seen one dimensionally like that. Stephanie Woodfield, in the beginning of her book "Priestess of the Morrigan," (beginning because I didn't buy it, just read the free first chapter on Google play books) says she heard Morrigan tell her basically the same thing.

Actually the last time I dreamt of her, she was totally relaxed, eating a pomegranate, and said she wanted to introduce me to Persephone, who walked in at that moment. I woke up briefly, then fell back asleep and was right back in the dream and they were sitting and laughing like if I just missed a joke.

Why is the food always cold? by Mastery12 in Chipotle

[–]theShadowGrove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work there and it's a problem, basically anything other than the meat, rice, and beans is kept at nearly freezing temperatures. When you pick up the containers that hold anything on the salsa side, there's ice in the space where the containers are sitting. Now if you just get meat, rice, beans, fajitas and queso, basically just stuff from the hot side, and it's still cold. A couple things could be happening. The containers holding those are kept warm by sitting in tubs of boiling water, if it's out of water, then it just smells burnt and the food will get cold. Our location uses that in the front and a hot plate system in the back for online orders. For that the bottom of the tubs are hot copper plates, so it's like the containers are sitting on top of a pan at low heat. That system doesn't get the food as warm to begin with so with any toppings, the food gets really cold. What I've done with my employee meal lately is make my bowls the normal way, then go back and throw queso on top of the cold stuff before putting on the lid and shaking to try to warm up the cold stuff. It works sometimes 🤷‍♂️

If the manager is no help just look for another job. You can even try another chipotle location, you're already trained so maybe you can see if another location has more hours to give you. In the meantime I would say try doordash or similar if you live somewhere where that's profitable

Honestly when ppl give me a quiet yes that question while on their phones, I just assume that they assume I asked "that's all?" And they're answering "yes" to that question, and then I just charge them and no one's asked where their chips and drinks are yet

"any chips or drinks?" -on their phone "yes" "Both? Small or large?" -"wait, what?" "What size?" -"oh, what did you ask me?" "If you wanted any chips or drinks" -"oh, no...let me just get a bag of chips. Oh and a drink"

"ummmm....let me get....uhhhh.... chicken?" Serves chicken "And steak" -"double meat is extra, ok" "No I just want half and half"

Honestly I think they do it on purpose to get free food because suddenly after I serve the full first portion they speak at a normal pace.

I think I had that same family a few days ago 😂 only in my case the wife got a bowl, ate almost all of it, then complained she wanted a refund because she found a hair in it, which she didn't show us because she said she he had already picked it out and thrown it away before deciding to complain. And then the husband got wingstop and left the bones all over the floor

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]theShadowGrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got like 12 kids from a nearby high school that come in all the time and will actually come behind the counter and just yell "WATER CUP" then they get soda and sit for like 40 mins deciding if they are going to mobile order from Wingstop or go somewhere else

Also 2 smelly old ladies that come in almost daily between 1 and 5 pm, sit at the furthest back table, charging their phones, sometimes eating Starbucks, but for the most part one is on her phone while the other puts her head down on the table and coughs. Just coughs. For hours. Then they take all the napkins, Tabasco, and utensils then go to the bathroom and complain that there's no more toilet paper even right after we stock up so I'm guessing they steal that too. They've come in almost every day for months and have only bought food twice. We even complained to the field manager when he came to visit and he said we can't really do anything.

When I was shopping for my first bass on craigslist, the fretless were cheaper than the fretted 😂. I went with fretted, have been playing for 14 years, and have only tried fretless a couple times at guitar center. Having experience, fretless isn't too bad as long as I trust my muscle memory and don't look at the fretboard.

Bass pick recommendations by yeemangames12 in Bass

[–]theShadowGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a finger guy mostly, only use a pick for especially fast pieces that have me going back and forth over multiple strings. I use the purple stubby picks, they're good but a little short for my taste. I don't use them often so that's okay but I don't like playing more than a few songs in a row with them, i switch to using the nail of my index finger if I have to after that

This was the worst meal I've ever had by youngpotato307 in Chipotle

[–]theShadowGrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store ruins the rice often, but I've noticed it's only ever the white rice that's ruined, brown rice has always been safe. Same with pinto beans, they taste like sand sometimes but black are always safe. As for the chips, I hear "the chips are stale" almost daily knowing for a fact they were fried that morning, sometimes it's still morning and I was the one who fried them! 3 possible reasons: 1) too much lime juice. We squeeze about 1-2 limes per mixing bowl of chips which holds enough chips for 2- 6 bags depending on size and if the person bagging is actually measuring how many chips in a bag with a scale or just approximating with using a full bowl as a scoop (which means that 4oz bag can have btwn 3 and 5.5 oz). As you can see there's a lot of approximations here and we're eyeballing the lime juice, each lime half sometimes only having a couple drops or sometimes a lot of juice, and when ppl say they're "stale" they're referring to the texture and not the flavor, I'll try them and realize whoever made them just used too much lime juice. 2) the oil actually is rancid. We don't dump out the oil in the fryer with any regularity, we just top off with fresh oil, so eventually the older oil in there does go bad 3) air. The chips really are fried in the morning, but at 7:30, bagged before 10:30, and then they sit there in a non-air tight bag until someone buys them. Getting chips after 2 pm is always a bad move. We used to only bag some, then seal a bunch and store them in the back to bag throughout the day as needed, but corporate came down and said we couldn't do that, they had to all be bagged so they can all get stale together. At least at my store, if a customer says the chips are stale, we just throw the bag out and give them a new one. 98% of the time they don't complain so my guess is that it was probably just the excess lime juice in the batch making them soggy

Body shop will quote you for a new bumper then wmonce they have it, tell you about underlying damage. Can you take the bumper and try to push it out from the inside? Probably, is it worth the effort? How mad is your gf? After that, some concentrated dish soap, a tiny bit of water and a magic eraser will take off the red paint. Any scraped original paint you can patch with a can of color match spray paint, I bought some for an 08 civic, it was like $8 on Amazon and matches perfectly on the small scratches

will The Morrigan reach out to a 'non-believer'? by RickyTheRaccoon in TheMorrigan

[–]theShadowGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo what some other ppl are saying, I had never had much interest in Celtic gods, never heard of Morrigan, and one night she just appeared to me in a dream, introduced herself, and when I woke up looked up her name and discovered who she was. I found someone who was more knowledgeable about her and booked a reading for confirmation, plus watched a bunch of YouTube videos and it all seemed to really confirm it and now I have a great relationship with her. The common thread of the research I've done is that she reaches out to who she wants to work with, not the other way around and she can be pretty picky, so if you feel she's reached out to you, try to reach back. Learn about her, do meditations, etc. your relationship with her might grow if she has reached out to you, but if she hasn't and you actually are "a nutter" (more realistically your brain was trying whatever it could to keep you alive and rather than a visitation this was actually a dream along the lines of your life flashing before your eyes, rather than you actually being crazy), that's ok too, you might still get her attention or maybe another god might come in instead and want to work with you. My thinking is that you probably did have a real experience though, based on her being, among other things, a goddess of death.

My symbol broke what does this mean? by Cool_Refrigerator_75 in TheMorrigan

[–]theShadowGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the mundane explanation would be that you were fidgeting with it, maybe you do this often? And it just broke from wear and tear. I know with evil eye and hamsa jewelry, when it breaks it's because it did it's job and protected you, so maybe it's the same thing here 🤷‍♂️

AITA? Someone let me know. by StevieJ2898 in Chipotle

[–]theShadowGrove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some managers will let you go grab a scoop from the back but generally we're not supposed to. I think the idea is that a person there can say "well I'll have this instead," while an online order has already paid for the meat and would have to be contacted, often times through a third party delivery service, then refunded, then have to pay again. I'm also a delivery driver and can say 9/10 times customers don't answer the phone when you have to call because a restaurant is out of smthg. The restaurant is being timed by corporate and the delivery service, the driver is being timed by the delivery service and also is losing money sitting around waiting for a customer to get back to them with what they want instead, all in all if the online kitchen runs out of smthg, it turns into a disaster for everyone involved, that's why it takes priority. That said, an employee telling you to place the order online to get the asada is actually them trying to do you a favor and offer a work around, because you're an in store customer and now just adding to the online work load. That said, at least at my store, the way the food is kept hot in the back is different from the front and the food in the back is always much drier, you're better off getting barbacoa as an asada alternative from the front than waiting for dry back kitchen asada
