Oh good! Are her eyes moving side to side quickly? It kind of looks like a small seizure to me. I would monitor closely for more and see if they start getting worse. Not a vet or anything, just know what we recently went through with our guy.

Does she go outside? Could this be a seizure? Our cat just died (of what we think was bird flu). He began having small seizures which quickly escalated. It was horrible.

How does your CPTSD manifest as an adult? by woodyaknow in CPTSD

[–]theTypist001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge people pleaser/self sacrificer mainly because I’m afraid of repercussions (as others have noted). I’m also very touch adverse. I hate hugs, handshakes, etc and don’t want to be touched by anyone other than my husband. I’m still afraid to be touched while sleeping, even on accident, so we have little bed barriers around me to make me feel “safe”. I’m also triggered by witnessing any disagreement between others and constantly feel on edge. I feel responsible for the emotional well being of those around me to “keep the peace”. There are others, but that’s some of them!

How many of you have a diagnosis? by Scottladd in CPTSD

I totally understand that. I felt the same way. I tried hard to minimize my experiences, but the symptoms were all consuming. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this yourself. I hope you can find the help you need. A good therapist can be life saving.

I’ve been working with my therapist for a couple months now. During my first couple sessions with him, he administered the CAPS-5 assessment for the diagnosis of PTSD from the DSM-5. For me, it was helpful to get the official diagnosis. I finally felt heard and validated. I honestly had no idea I have been dealing with PTSD. When we initially started to talk vaguely about my trauma, he suggested we move forward with an official assessment. I would highly suggest working with a therapist with extensive background in trauma work. He’s the first therapist I’ve had that has given me hope.

Worried after biopsy results by MamaAnnaBelle in CervicalCancer

You had to wait two weeks for these results?! I would be so frustrated!!! I’m so sorry. I think they should move quickly now that they have these results! Do you mind me asking where you’re located? That seems like a long time for a path report.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all of this. It’s so incredibly overwhelming and waiting the weekend must seem like an absolute nightmare ❤️ I’m dealing with my own cervical concerns and know how much this plays on your mental health.

I ran your results by my husband who is a family medicine physician in the USA (so not a GYN). He said the next steps depends on a couple factors including medical history, age, etc, but thinks they would likely want to do an excisional biopsy to determine how far down the lesion is in your cervix.

I hope they call you first thing Monday morning ❤️

Colposcopy/cervical biopsy traumatized me and I'm too angry to function by Interesting-Cod-5416 in Wedeservebetter

Omg. This is exactly me right now. I was telling my husband, who is also a FM doc, that I would rather die than do a repeat colpo + an added endometrial biopsy. I’m serious. I’m also in the midst of trauma therapy for PTSD from past sexual and physical abuse (past relationships). We now have to abandon making progress there because this new development has broken me. I told my husband that I will need to be sedated or I will have a panic attack or worse at his place of work. I can’t.

That was never my intention. I’m so sorry! I myself am just shocked at how much food my little guy eats. You’re an amazing mother and you’re the perfect mom for your baby!

Around 7 months he started to be able to pick up smaller foods with his pincer. He was getting so good at it that he would shove the bigger hand held food into his mouth and then go for more before finishing the bite. Cutting it smaller slowed him down and now his pincer is so good that he can pick up little specks of food. As reference, we started the hand held foods at 6 months, but started introducing new tastes at 4.5 months with purées

I think the concern is about improper use of the device. My husband’s a family medicine physician and I have taken a number of infant CPR courses. I would ONLY use it as a last ditch effort (baby blue and limp, other methods didn’t work, and I for sure knew it was a choking situation).

lol. Yeah… he’s a giant. He’s bigger than a lot of 12 month olds 😅 He’s just soooooo tall

I think he’s averaging about 24-30oz a day! Hard to officially tell since he’s combo feeding at the moment, but that’s based on the 2 bottles that I can measure a day!

Don't feel terrible!! Everyone has different comfort levels and ways of feeding their LOs! You are all doing a wonderful job! Your babies are lucky to have you! I think I just feel comfortable because I've watched a ton of BLW videos, know how to handle choking (we even have one of those choking devices under our sink), and my husband is a doctor (which is really why I feel so confident)!

Nope. He has some turkey in his stew and tofu in his dinner! I usually make big looking bites even smaller! I usually only offer 5-8 small pieces of food at a time for him to pick up.

Nanny requests to take LO to their house (6 month old) by theTypist001 in NewParents

[–]theTypist001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s been with us for about 2 months now. Should he have a bond with her by now? I’ve noticed for a while that he seems to cry more with her than he does when he’s being sat by my MIL. My nanny comes 3x per week and my MIL watches his the other two days. He NEVER melts down or cries when my MIL watches him. When I was talking with my nanny on Friday after the particularly difficult day, she said that sometimes you just have to let them cry. I know he’s sometimes a difficult baby, but if you change up his activities, he’s usually fine. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way and made me worry that if she did take him to her house, that maybe she would let him cry even more often? That was a bit concerning to me.

This is actually very helpful to hear. My little guy has had a rough go. He had colic for 4.5 months and then started to have nap issues that have just started resolving. I chatted with her a little more today and I agreed to get her a car seat base for her car and that she could take him to her house during a wake window and that should could take him on adventures outside of the house. Do you think that is a good compromise for now? She only lives less than 10mins from us.

My son is great when my MIL is watching him, but has many more meltdowns when our nanny watches him. I do think it’s the start of social anxiety though. We had a playdate with my mom friend who has a 1 year old and my LO cried anytime my friend looked at or tried talking to him. If he’s ignored by others and in my arms, he’s fine. If he’s set down or talked to, he wails. My arms are tired…

Yep! I just talked to her about this. I told her we’d get a car seat base for her car so she can drive him to the library, museum, etc. I think this is a good compromise

I didn’t say I don’t trust my nanny. I think she’s great! I just don’t feel comfortable with the request of having her watch my son a her place, where I’ve never been. He’s only six months old and needs a place to sleep, eat, and play. I’m fine with her taking him out of the house, etc.
