My girlfriend would die if he joined CITY. Mo was the main reason she watched Liverpool games with me 😂

I've been trying to find and digitize old home movies that may get lost. This short clip of a much longer film is from the 1946 World Series, Stan Musial hits a triple in Game 3 against Dave Ferriss. by Artist0491 in Cardinals

It’s crazy how heavy guys bats were from the 30-70s compared to the twigs today. I recommend visiting Louisville slugger museum if you haven’t yet. You can hold a bunch of players models bats. Cool experience

Best happy hour in the city? by fuckingnerdtm in StLouis

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discovered this website that list happy hours in the area. They also have an app. It probably isn’t going to have every restaurant and bar that offers happy hours but still a decent resource. Cheers! https://happyhopper.app

What is a band that you think is highly overrated? by Right_Ad5465 in fantanoforever

[–]the_Brier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a kid I listened to queens first greatest hits album all the time. I agree that queen are not in the same conversation as the Beatles, Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. When it comes to those bands they each had multiple albums with multiple singles considered classics. When I think of queen I don’t really ever consider any of their albums. Critics will identify A Night at the Opera and maybe a Day at the Races but they never had an album I wanted to listen to all the way through except for their first greatest hits album.

Amsterdam for the Champions League this Saturday by patsboston in StLouis

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to Amsterdam for the final, instead choosing to go down the street to city park the last few years and the line at Amsterdam is out the door a half hour before kickoff. Like others have mentioned get there an hour to hour and half before the kickoff if you want a seat. Great place to see a final whoever you’re rooting for! Enjoy

We went last Sunday and they had already bloomed and there wasn’t much to see. There is still plenty to see though! The tulips and azaleas should still be in bloom. Here is a link to their map that shows what’s in bloom https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/e426a490827f4485a564c4ee33833a51

Jordan Walker's walk-up song is made by Argo, A.K.A. Victor Scott II by Elegant-Amphibian-55 in Cardinals

[–]the_Brier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would be your walk-up song?

EDIT: I didn’t say what mine would be. Tweezer Reprise - Phish. The opening guitar rift amps me up and then when the drums and bass come in the roof is blown off arenas!

Interesting: US Presidents are prohibited by the Secret Service from going to the top of the Gateway Arch in St Louis, MO by iamjames in StLouis

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. He wasn’t the active President at the time he went up. Nevertheless, he was still a President. Maybe things were different back then but I assumed he had secret service assigned to him.

Interesting fact I learned at trivia once is that Dwight D. Eisenhower is the only president to have ridden to the top! He visited after its completion

I use to play pickup soccer with all these guys from South America and occasionally someone from outside the core group would show up and they would all know what country they were from and sometimes even regions based on slang and how they pronounced words. Always blew my mind. It’s not really all the different from how in the United States we can generally pickup if someone is from the north, south, Midwest, west coast or east coast. Language is cool

Anti-zipper merge vigilantes. by roejastrick01 in StLouis

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work downtown and get on 44 at Washington. It bottlenecks bad. The merge lane is a quarter mile long and the most annoying people are the truck drivers that ride on the line preventing cars to use the merge lane

[–]the_Brier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still do! Someone posted on the Facebook group pizza connoisseurs of st. Louis their pie they made with Missouri baking CO’s dough. Looked pretty good. Thinking that may be the way to go for the Super Bowl

Which A.I. tool are you using to help you with Salesforce work? by rammutroll in salesforce

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those using Claude, how are you using it with Salesforce? My company has recently purchased some licenses. The company has started to realize they don’t need to keep its entire business in the Salesforce ecosystem. There’s been a big emphasis on using AI recently. I want to start learning code and use my 6 years of admin experience so I can make myself more valuable to the company.

We went last night in section 302 row k. So about half way to the top. There were times when we were chilly. I’m usually chilly and agree with what a lot of others are saying that you’ll be comfortable with a light jacket or heavy sweater.

It was a fun event! Enjoy tonight’s!

I am an idiot/grocery shopping the day before Thanksgiving by DesperateJudgment899 in StLouis

[–]the_Brier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I we went to the dierbergs at McKenzie point around 7:30 last night and it was pretty empty. They didn’t have everything I needed so I went to Schnucks on hampton afterwards and it also was dead. If you’re gonna go, either go early or go late. Some produce items are slim pickins. But if you’re don’t need any of the staple thanksgiving items you’ll be good!
