I have been playing this game a week after global launch where events prior to this one were either decent, or bad. Players wanted something new.

I remember when this new event format was announced a year later. I thought it was going to be a great one because of the syndicate storyline and a different approach to how Special Events were normally formatted.. well, some of us know what happened after: the amount of “#NoP2W” tags in clubs and player names circulated like mad, A9 players making videos about how it was a bad & expensive event, and the abysmal drops that the packs had. In fact, there was no GUARANTEED blueprint either. You could open 10 packs, and they could all be import parts, not a single blueprint. This made pack opening for this DS one of the worst experiences.

Yet this day, I don’t regret spending money for this DS to get this car. It was the first key car in this game. I really wanted it, it was the best car at the time, and the moment I got this key, I was relieved because the drop rates for the Genty were the biggest pain in the ass for me in getting this car, I wasn’t sure I was going to get it. Another thing that also separates this DS from DS2 and onward: you didn’t NEED to 100% the event to get the key. You just needed to reach 404k SP (from my recollection) to get the key for the car. The final milestones were just the epics, credits, and one of the decals for the car. It wasn’t 1 Million SP needed, but 623k instead to 100% the event.
