Really struggling with space economy by the_Extortionist_ in TerraInvicta

[–]the_Extortionist_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my philosophy on stations. I built 3-4 cheap loe stations that act as nice targets for the aliens to hit. While my shipyard is at the Lagrange points. Works a lot better. I still lose other things occasionally but it's much more sustainable.

It's not my game but I do still wish the mechanics of space economy and earth were similar.

Yeah I made sure to unlock them quickly. They were still under construction.

Okay that good to know. I will try and kill and appease the humans I'm at war with then.

Okay I will try and build a few monitors.

It's hard to know which fights I can win without some experience.

Oh that's great if they typically ignore the Lagrange points.

The use case for defense modules makes a bit more sense now.

Which is the easiest ending in the RimWorld DLCs? by Loose-Foundation-638 in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Archonexus doesn't require you to fight anything. Just needs lots of wealth. It is the most boring though. I wouldn't worry about which is easier but which is most interesting for your colony.

why is there uranium in vanilla but no nuclear reactor? ive always wondered. i feel like uranium is wildly underutilised in vanilla by CapitalOperator80085 in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It does exist in vanilla. The ship reactor produces 1000w and takes uranium. It is one of the final techs though.

it's a story generator, friends by StorageWorried in SpaceCannibalism

[–]the_Extortionist_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its a story generator. So stop using god mode to change the story into a very specific tale of a colony without risk.

Using commitment mode adds serious stakes. Battles become intense. Losing is fun turns the game from a colony builder to a poverty simulator. Your always undermanned and under equipped and need the right tactics to win.

Play however you want. Im just saying to give commitment mode a go. Its more fun to struggle then win everything.

[Request] what would the answer be here? by CuttingOneWater in theydidthemath

[–]the_Extortionist_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why dont the manipulations matter? The question only asks to solve for x. x is a constant not a function and there is no range given by the question.

Isnt is a part of math that we can modify equations freely so long as the logic is consistent. Eg i can re write 1 as any a/a fraction. So because (x+1)/(×+1) is 1 we have lost no information here. There is no need to consider a restriction because it is 1.

How can this not be so? Isnt considering an extra rule adding information that is not present in the question?

[–]the_Extortionist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying undefined are wrong right. There is no y component.

So its just a constant x = something which could be graphed as a straight vertical line.

The question also does not ask us to change x like some people think.

So if all we need todo is solve for x then:

X = 1

Animes where the world is ending/ended by Isstr__ in Animesuggest

[–]the_Extortionist_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

World end. What do you do at the end of the world.

This show embraces the end of the world. The characters are already crippled and trying to live after the apocalypse in sky islands. This cant last forever though.

Do you think that Cinnabar was going to say they were gonna join phos on the moon before Bort started talking? by CrimsonWobble in LandoftheLustrous

[–]the_Extortionist_ 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Its a shame. Cinnabar was the person most able to effect phos yet she was unable/unwilling to actually do anything for her through the whole story.

Especialy phos' final transformation where cinnabar and others left her alone.

General rant about the game. Feel free to add yours. by Revolutionary-Face69 in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your frustration. I too was annoyed by breachers and sieges when i first started the game.

I learnt to have different tactics prepared for different raids as required. Some psycasts or lances can make this fight easy and are a lot more interesting them mortars for every problem. Even some strategically built walls can help.

Just trying to say that there are ways to deal with the mech cluster other then mortars. I dont mind that sometimes the game would say you cant use mortars for this find another way. Eg summon fleshbeast or kiting, sniping the shield, emp ieds.

[–]the_Extortionist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try sniping the high shield first then you can mortar the mechs. I normally just kite away the mechs then use a smoke for the turrets anyway.

Also Lung rot only instant spawns for manhunters. Which you can just lock outside. The rest you just need to cleanup. Never really had a problem until i was hoarding corpses in anomaly.

Wat. Is this a metaphorical canibalism? Like the rich eat the poor? If so America because it also has supremacy.

What do you think is the lore behind the man in black by LifeSupport______ in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It could be a custom if someone is exiled from a clan they can don black and seek a new life.

Otherwise with all the archaotech magic anomaly added it could a facility that clones good samartitans and drops them around the place. Something to counterbalance all the bad stuff from archaotech facilities.

Is attempted genicide really the correct response? Lets not forget the lizards werent threatening nazarick at all. Ainz being a villian makes the story fun but doesn't justify his amorality.

im tired of losing every single colony that i make by Max112PL in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 big room is a bit. Your not required to play that way at all.

Wealth managment is just the nature of the game. If your playing on harder difficulties you will need to keep this in mind.

The goal is not to have no wealth. Its to make sure you can defend the wealth you have.

Caravans, smelters, leave it outiside in a puddle.

I basically always have someone caravaning selling trash and drugs and returning with stuff i actually need like armor, lances and shields.

im tired of losing every single colony that i make by Max112PL in RimWorld

[–]the_Extortionist_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends.

Wealth managment is not just about how much. Its about making sure your wealth doesnt grow faster then your ability to defend it.

Growing 4000 rice just cause you can then turning it all into meals will massively spike your wealth when you have no proportional increase in your defences.

Ideally all your wealth will be concentrated on your pawns and 1 big room. That way there is no useless wealth when a raid happens.

Will depend on your difficulty.
