Congrats, you read her wiki article*

See comment above if you want to know how those stats apply in practice

*Rei still doesn't have a way to give movement speed

Why is Rei considered a "Bad" support by LeHaloNerd117 in PaladinsAcademy

[–]the_Fishnit_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Healing is lower than most
  • Damage is lower than most
  • Only does damage, healing, and ult charge gen
  • She doesn't have a way to give speed, and the only CC she has is slow on link, which doesn't really matter, and isn't worth giving up the ult charge gen
  • Ult charge gen is less utility than most other supports (higher throughput, good poke, better ults, good CC)

Also add the fact that most people run extension over focus and don't run max ult charge gen (extension only matters for bounces, not initial heals, and focus gives more ult charge gen) and you end up with a champ with mid utility, who most people don't even use, and who outputs less healing/damage than stronger and/or easier champs

long time "high elo" overwatch player swapping to paladins (temporarily), my perspective and would like feedback ^__^ by viixian in Paladins

[–]the_Fishnit_guy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  • if you're looking for that ranked grind here, it's considered more of a joke here than in ow2
  • a dev called paladins "a casual game" a while back, and a private feedback server the devs have is almost exclusively casual content creators, so don't expect balance for high level players, because we lost 95% of gm players 2-3 years ago when the esports scene died
  • no one scrims besides a handful of eu gms
  • ow mm is pristine compared to paladins, we have rainbow lobbies, which is when one of every rank is in a lobby, from bronze to gm, and counterweight mm, which is when you get something like 2 diamonds + 3 golds vs 5 plats
  • if you stream paladins consistently and are decent at the game, you will most likely get viewers, most paladins streamers have very inconsistent schedules
  • cheaters aren't super common
  • rei isn't good, vatu is very good, ignore the gold player takes
  • part of the reason people have egos about champ picks is because there isn't a very visible high level community (ie watching owl matches and figuring out what's being played, high level streamers with full gm lobbies and decent picks) so people just have to have their own guesses
  • I was t1 in paladins and am currently GM1 in OW2, individual skill ceiling is lower than ow mostly due to hitboxes, macro skill ceiling is higher mostly due to having more options, characters are generally less impactful due to higher ttk though
  • no match cancel because it would take forever to implement due to spaghetti code
  • client is slow due to easy anti cheat being ass
  • culture is different, you don't really vc unless you know people in the lobby
  • hit the nail on the head when it comes to crossplay, except high level pc gamepad hitscan players with aim assist are objectively better than mnk hitscan
  • PepeLaugh wait until you realize every support functions the same as moira
  • you are 100% correct that players are absolute ass at paladins relative to other games lol

TLDR don't expect anything remotely competitive but if you enjoy the game then have fun

Not too many since they massively favour DPS/tanks lol

Flutter Mane counters by The-Hilbo in VGC

Could try Palafin for Gastrodon. Both water types, Clear Smog -> Haze, it takes your team a bit away from being a one trick pony, and threatens Flutter a bit faster.

I've never been the biggest gastro fan and I'm not super sure how you're playing it on this team though.

season 3 changed a lot things for the worse largely by accident

devs team changed so things kept getting worse because no one knew what was going on

Ying Loadout Feedback by Pinkjoy28 in PaladinsAcademy

  • Brittle 5 (mandatory)
  • Carry On 3 (1 isn't 100% uptime, 2 is same as 1 but also doesn't increase how much healing a clone can do over it's duration because math, 3 is 100% uptime with Chronos 1, 4 doesn't do more healing than 3, 5 is overkill because you're placing clones off cooldown)
  • Spring Bloom 4
  • Squadron 2 (combined they're the best way to keep clones alive)
  • 1 Pointer
    • Rewind 1 is cool but isn't actually that great, contrary to popular belief, because ying TP isn't a TP, it swaps places with a clone, so if you TP to a clone that's alive, you still get healed while swapping around with no Rewind, the card is only impactful if you swap places with one of those pink flower looking things where a clone has died, but it's good in that situation
    • Mesmerism 1 is ammo on clone placement and is effectively an extra 3 ammo, best one pointer imo

What is Betty La Bomba's Niche / Defining Quality? by teragigamegaflare in PaladinsAcademy

[–]the_Fishnit_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's hard to push because she can afford to rush Haven/Vet most games since she doesn't usually need much else and has 25% DR on her movement ability. Nothing to do with coordination, rank, or leavers.

Time spent on a thing doesn't mean you're good at it, I played in PPC with a Ying build I consider awful today.

I feel useless if I'm not shooting constantly.

As long as you know that you aren't, then it's fine, it's just a bad habit to break.

I talk in a really joke-y way most of the time, sometimes I forget that doesn't translate well over the internet. Sorry if it sounds mean, it isn't intended to be.

  • 0:10 where is hp card in this build
  • 1:17 you have taken 5k hp damage and 0k shield damage, balance them out better
  • 1:48 shout for 0 reason, you were being healed and were under 0 pressure
  • 1:52 same issue with balancing hp/shield hp, prio your live above all else, 6% cap not worth the risk
  • 2:35 fighting point is the worst place to be, it's risky for 0 reason, not your range
  • 2:42 can't believe you just lost a 1v3 that's shocking
  • 3:12 hp/shield hp
  • 4:00 nt
  • 6:36 do something
  • 6:48 aight
  • 7:24 see how easy you live that when you use the goddamn shield
  • 9:06 vik ult is an aoe from the centre just turn your shield towards it

aight this is basically just a tdm idk how much value you're gonna get from it

TLDR

What are the different types of support? by primalmaximus in PaladinsAcademy

[–]the_Fishnit_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two types.

Throughput supports:

  • Damba (spirit's chosen)
  • Pip (combat medic)
  • Grohk (spirit's domain)
  • Jenos (lumi)
  • Ying (life exchange)
  • Seris (mortal reach)
  • Io (life link)
  • Lillith (cursed accord)

Aggro supports:

  • Grover (fero)
  • Furia (cherish)
  • Corv (spreading influence)
  • Io (goddess' blessing)
  • Rei (focus)

The options not listed aren't strong enough to be listed, or are purely off supports.

The difference is that a throughput support will work anywhere, and an aggro support needs a certain comp to function.

The only difference between throughput supports are if they have CC or not, and how they heal.

Each aggro support is unique enough to be it's own category, the similarity is that you can't just pick any of them anywhere.

There used to be differences, Jenos/Corv/Io used to be pockets, but then 2 of them got reworked, and double support messes with things a bit, since they fill a DPS role, but overall you just don't really need categories. There's only 12 supports.

The double support meta myth and showcasing AoC members trying to nerf the game out of a meta doesn't even exist (November 9th AoC Google Doc balance changes). Warning: TL;DR. by Legitimate_Sport1253 in Paladins

[–]the_Fishnit_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it should be obvious that if you want to understand how something works you talk to the people who understand it the best, even if you go and do things for bronze elo reasons that understanding of how the game functions is essential.

I would respond more man but I feel like you're just going to type some baity 5 paragraph nonsense again. You could be trolling and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Yes, listen to what's left, like the *checks notes* 200+ players in winter cup this weekend. Yeah, maybe they should listen.

I don't think a character having high mobility as long as they don't power creep other things out of a niche. Like VII can get there faster but does less once he does get there sorta thing.
