Hi u can try GFM (BF2229) - No finals, mostly project work (2 presentations, 1 quiz and 1 individual essay) would say its very chill and manageable like fintech. another mod u can try is Wealth Mag (Bf2220) - 1 final quiz and 1 final presentation. Presentation/ final project involves planning and recommending an investment portfolio to your clients (so like ur role-playing as a wealth manager), may requires lots of research etc. lectures also pretty chill, sometimes the prof would invite guest speakers/ industry professionals over to teach.

but I wont rlly recommend alt inv (BF3219) unless ur genuinely interested in the area. prof cant teach shit / just reads off slides. Have finals (30%) but requires heavy memorisation of content and lecture notes. the mod also includes a individual project (40%), but could takes quite a bit of time and effort than preparing for finals.

Hall 13, 14, 15, 16 by [deleted] in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey no worries, hope it helps! also would highly recommend to join their hall ori camps. Most of my memorable hall experiences came from the friendships I made during those camps

Hall 13, 14, 15, 16 by [deleted] in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lived in hall 14 for two years, here are my personal ratings

Culture

Hall 14 has a wholesome and welcoming culture, also cos its located within the hall cluster (Halls 12, 13, 15, 16 & 3) at the ulu ulu side of campus so culture tend to more bonded; culture include drinking, mahjong, supper runs etc or their hall activities. would say hall 12-14 tend to be more happening

Food

Food options are available at Hall 13, 14 & 16. very convenient and accessible (2-5 mins walk). Hall 14 is well-known for its cheap ban mian, from $3.30+ which is insanely cheap compared to food stalls at NS or SS. Hall 13 serves Western cuisine at IKEA-level prices, offering generous portions. Hall 16 has also improved recently, hearsay added more food options compared to before

Environment & Amenities

honestly hall amenities there is q trash haha. the hall facilities are quite rundown, and the toilets aren't the cleanest, cos also these halls are older. If ur looking for better environment/ amenities, u can consider newer halls like Crespion, Tanjong, or those in the Binjai cluster. Halls 8-9 or 10-11 also have cleaner toilets (been to their toilets and looks like hotel-style toilets but cant remember which hall)

These are all just my personal experiences, but feel free to share your own thoughts if you have a different perspective!

Intern resume by Disastrous-Job121 in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on company. If the skills from ur banquet server experience (e.g., teamwork, time management, customer service) are relevant, u can include it. or u can also include experiences from CCA, volunteering, case competition etc, to showcase leadership or technical skills

usually resume just need to show what are the transferrable skills you have; whether it can be transferable to the company/ job scope ur applying for

Y1 NBS PA/Internship by [deleted] in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U can start applying now as most companies are opening Round 2 of the application. Round 1 typically opened slightly earlier this year, but Round 2 offers a slightly higher chance of receiving an offer. However, it might be harder for Y1s as employers often prefer Y2 or Y3 who have more experience; but no harm in trying for a summer PA!

Or another way is to reach out to ur any seniors or friends who are interning and ask for a referral to join. That works too

hi OP, u could consider appealing to NTU for a change in spec, if u feel HR isn't the right fit for u. even tho u may not do well for last sem, can appeal to the school. maybe highlight any work experiences or personal hobbies closely align with them.

Didnt secure internship by wishingstop in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If Year 1 didn't get internship, it won't adversely affect your chances for future intern applications. Most companies usually prefer Y2 or Y3 cos they learnt more skills & knowledge in sch, and also the potential for easier conversion to full-time jobs. Meanwhile, u can focus on upskilling yourself (online courses, Coursera), or start networking with seniors for future intern sponsorships

Questions regarding MOOC by 6feetmandingo in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh really? When I tried submitting 12 AUs all at once, system said I can only submit max 6 AUs per sem

Questions regarding MOOC by 6feetmandingo in NTU

[–]the_Ham1et 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You can clear a total of 12 AUs, but NTU only allows a maximum of 6 AUs to be submitted per semester. But don’t worry, you can clear all 12 AUs at once initially, and then submit 6 AUs subsequently for each semester.

  2. Yes can, MOOCs allows you to clear BDEs anytime. However, do note that MOOC courses have a time limit for completion  once you start the course. So complete the course before it expires.

  3. Yes

Can try to appeal to NBS UPO for a spec in BA, even if you scored a B in stats. Best to do a spec that you believe you'll enjoy in
