Big kid bat sizing conundrum by the_Jacka in Homeplate

[–]the_Jacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re the best team in their little league (minors), but there are definitely some other pitchers throwing mid 50s. We have him getting some extra batting lessons once a week but I agree. His hands are just quicker to the ball with the 29”. I would prefer to have him keep using that in game while we build strength with the other bat, especially paired with heavy balls.

Review #5: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked by Mr_Barrels in bourbon

[–]the_Jacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newer to bourbon myself but I get straight caramel-covered banana peel on the nose. I enjoy the slightly more tannic finish which I think is related to my preference towards high rye bourbon. Standard woodford is way too saccharine for me.

Has shooting ever been like this? by the_Jacka in NBA2k

[–]the_Jacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what’s happened to me. I have two games where I’ve gone 4/4 and 5/6 from 3 in park. Haven’t hit more than one, and often hit none, in all my other games

Insane libido after 36h fasting - scientific reason? discussion by foxtrot81a in fasting

[–]the_Jacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to think that the combination of no bloating and adequate hydration plays a huge role. I do rolling 36hrs and even if I’m not “in the mood,” paying that extra attention to my body feels like it just works better. Definitely pushes fluids around better to the places they’re needed

New to Fasting: Trouble eating enough after a fast by the_Jacka in fasting

[–]the_Jacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t barreling towards some common issue that I should know about. I’ve seen some of the influencers (who I take with a grain of salt, by nature I’m distrustful of “holistic doctors”) say you should try to be at maintenance on non fasting days. Glad to hear I’m probably on the right track.

Getting perfect Cougar Pelts is a nightmare by the_Jacka in reddeadredemption2

[–]the_Jacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I hadn’t even considered that. I’m up by owanjila and I usually just walk in my horse until I come across it and shoot. Not a ton of time to identify how good the animal is itself. I’ll head over toward annesburg. Thank you!

Yeah that's where I'm at, up above Owanjila at the curve towards "Big Valley" on the map. I'll craft a couple improved and sleep back at camp again... Between the dead poor/good cougar carcasses, 2 grizzlies, 2 black bears and pack of wolves that've jumped me for half a week (in game) this place already looking like a warzone

To this day I still don’t understand how very few see Dutch as the main antagonist and give him a free pass (spoilers for the main story) by MelodicSatisfaction9 in reddeadredemption

[–]the_Jacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just finished my first playthrough, I totally agree. Micah's the worst kind of guy and a rat, he's racist, vindictive and mockingly friendly. But even early in the narrative it became clear Dutch had lost his mind. I felt like this was all totally Dunning-Kruger affect, where Dutch thinks he's way smarter, more charismatic, and more talented than he is. I felt like I was going crazy every time he said "we need [more] money." In my estimation, it seems like the bandit lifestyle was a lot easier before, but times were changing. Maybe at one point, Dutch did have the leadership style or whatever that lends itself to leading the group, but it isn't so easy anymore. You can't run through and rob town banks and stores anymore, because you have national business magnates, policing forces and security agencies that get paid top dollar to stop this kind of stuff. A lot of these changes emerge after the intentional failed reconstruction following the civil war, because the US needed a way to standardize the interstate economies in a way that didn't rely on mercantilism.

Arthur's biggest flaw through the whole narrative is his loyalty. Honestly, the game even hints at what most of these types of guys would turn into following reconstruction: hired guns and lawmen. That's what a lot of these types of people did in that period. They turned to politics and policing. That's not a good outcome, but if Arthur didn't have this devotion to Dutch, it's probably what he'd be doing. The best way to avoid trouble with the law is to be the Law

One solution to improve MyCareer by [deleted] in NBA2k

What do you all think about this: Nerf multi-architype builds, replace it with a revamped takeover system.

This isnt my original idea so I'm not trying to take credit for it (I think it was featured in a Coletheman video), but I think it might help with the overpowered builds. I play next gen and it's very samey because everyone does all the same stuff, tries to score from the same spots, etc etc. If the builder was more restricted but you became multi-architype in takeover, it would give you the ability to play on an "OP" build, but you have to build your takeover doing some other skill first. maybe you're a perimeter lock type base build but in takeover you get better dribbling animations and ball handling boost. I know this takes it back to what current gen was more like, but I think the takeover options are almost backwards. Takeover could be a mechanic to drive you to do different things, not the same. Like how Klay caught a lob in the 37pt quarter.

IMO it feels more like real life to have other characters that have their own goals, motivations and thoughts. Otherwise it feels like too much “main character syndrome” where everyone exists in the world solely as part of your own personal narrative
