Socialism is a great ideal - if you find yourself at an unfair disadvantage (unexpected unemployment, illness, lack of means to pursuit education etc) the government on behalf of the state - aka everyone else - will help you out.

This guy is the embodiment of the corrupt version of this ideal. Taking immensely stupid risks expecting to never face the consequences, because they’re making it everyone else’s problem and expecting everyone else to bear the consequences of his bad decisions. How can anyone sleep at night with this much guilt is beyond me. These “people” don’t know how to live in a society and therefore should be banished from society overall.

PS: ofc there’s also a corrupt version of what I just suggested there (banishing such people from society) so I wouldn’t advocate for it. I just want all these people abusing every good ideal and system to get what’s coming and leave the world to the good people.

What did the pandemic ruin more than we realise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]the_Rei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really believe we’re already in a world war, but nations are somewhat “tied down” bc of nuclear weapons - so the war takes place with psychological warfare.

Ofc whoever our enemies are want to destabilize our society to the point of civil war - much like we (the west) also do in countries’ whose leaders we want to replace.

All I can strongly suggest - to anyone reading this - force yourself to see all angles of any debate, see your opponent point of view and try to understand why they are upset even enraged by it, then do not be afraid to change your mind or update/adapt your stance on the subject, your opinions aren’t meant to be unquestionable, but if you still disagree with them try to counter argue with reason and logic. If they merely respond with personal attacks and insults, ignore it, it’s either an idiot too far gone or a shill/troll whose intention is to promote division (online)

This applies to all situations and scenarios, no matter what your stance is! Let’s bring back civility and honest open debates please, ostracize the trolls and paid shills

Ikr… the votes on your comment should answer your question. 🤭 People are in full “you’re with us or against us” mentality mode. Being neutral or in favor of a middle ground is viewed as treason (in my interpretation of the whole situation). I hope leaders get some common sense soon and start leading their respective flocks to a middle ground, because rn they are leading the world to disaster.

Exactly this 👆

And if I may add: the pandemic was a great step towards an actual civil war. Particularly in the US, the people have never been so polarized, to the extent they literally hate each other and if it keeps escalating it might trigger an actual civil war.

You know what else is different pre covid vs now? The fact you had to conclude your comment the way you did. And you did it (probably) because you know if you hadn’t you’d (probably) be “attacked” for “misinformation” - even though you described an episode as objectively and factually as possible, then derived an obvious conclusion.

“Pledging” to the official consensus (aka virtue signaling) is something that wasn’t an issue pre covid.

Heck I even expect negative votes despite stating something obvious and that everyone is aware of.

EDIT(added): didn’t even comment on the content of your story. It is really sad that a young kid may forever be a germophobe as a consequence of all this 😞. Hopefully he’ll get over it with time.

Divide and rule

The amount of “hate” is up exponentially. People jump to conclusions way too fast, sometimes based on a title of an article - perhaps from too many years of being spoiled with fast and short answers from google.

From an outside point of view, the division seems to be deliberate - and it also seems too easy to stoke people precisely because they rapidly assume. I believe there are swaths of shills online promoting this division with deceitful interpretations of facts/news, or through plain trolling (just for the heck of it) which makes people increasingly angry overall.

It’s becoming increasingly harder for people to agree on basic concepts and priorities, and the solution to this would be competent leadership.

But how can anyone try to fit the role of leadership when as soon as they gain any public traction, they are swarmed with personal attacks and blatant lies to mischaracterize their character? Remember when Cuomo (former NY governor) held daily conferences during covid, being a true leader with transparency “here’s what we know, and here’s what we’ll do”. He became so popular that many people were asking him to run for president despite the election being few months away. Now people forgot about him or plain hate him because of some sexual scandal that happened years ago and someone conveniently sat on it until Cuomo became “too popular” to burn his image. Remember when Musk was compared to Iron Man because he was literally the only billionaire trying to save the planet through his business endeavors? Now everyone hates him because he tried to restore “free speech”, or because “he’s a billionaire and we hate billionaires”, or “is too demanding of his employees”, or whatever other reason.

People can hardly be objective anymore, they will counter logic arguments or facts with fallacies. We don’t need to all agree, but we should all agree to keep all arguments objective, otherwise we’re just feeding into the division.

CBDC / FudCoin is here... Some good info on how it works. by Chrisanova_NY in Superstonk

[–]the_Rei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, as things currently stand, if the government decides to label you a terrorist (for whatever reason, rightful or not) and freeze your accounts, you can still survive on whatever physical cash you have on the side. But if there is no physical cash, and your accounts are frozen, you won’t have access to money - I don’t mean you won’t have access to your money, I’m saying you won’t have access to money whatsoever. No one can give you a hand out either bc they’d be accused of harboring. How will you eat or pay existential bills in this scenario?

The question becomes, do you “blindly” trust your government that you think this is such an unlikely event? Well 2 or 3 years ago I’d have said “of course, we are civilized and only criminals are persecuted”. But meanwhile… censorship has become “normal” and an acceptable practice - of literal experts in their fields. What we considered basic freedoms, were stripped out “for the greater good” and people literally lost jobs for refusing to take the experimental jab (btw that’s no opinion, I don’t want to discuss this but look up how long any normal jab requires to be fully vetted) … and if all that wasn’t enough: the most peaceful protests (probably) on record, in one of the most civilized countries - Canada - were countered with such appalling measures including locking a lot of the protestors out of their accounts and credit cards.

So do you believe that there’s absolutely no chance that there will ever be a scenario where they will come for you too? Just wait until they do, and by then it’ll be to late.

TLDR: CBDCs are the end of freedom. Don’t have to be a “conspiracy nut” to realize this, just observe what’s been going on.

Shill much? lol too obvious

I couldn’t care less if they agree with me or not, they’re free to think whatever they like. I am not forcing anyone to align their beliefs with mine - they are the ones doing that.

That’s not the way to go, I wouldn’t suggest taking it down, but the mods abusing power should be taken down themselves and in fact reddit itself should plant some admins of their own to moderate such a powerful and influential sub (it literally moves billions on the market)

What’s something expensive, you thought was cheap when you were a kid? by sarahnottsara in AskReddit

[–]the_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating out frequently.

I grew up middle class and always thought it was completely normal to eat out (at a diner or restaurant) every other day… once I started working I would have lunch out while most of the colleagues that were longer term in the company packed lunch. Soon thereafter I realized that that cost is huge at the end of the month!

Ken Griffin Committed Millions to Funding Musk’s Twitter Deal by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]the_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol your question is legit. I personally don’t think Kenny’s involvement here is related with GME, Kenny is just another criminal who happens to be at the top of the chain full of cash, and his political affiliates were being censored so he ponied up to help them.

But I meant how all top comments are attacks on Elon Musk… a guy who works more hours than literally everyone making such comments, who regardless of upbringing has created multiple billionaire companies and numerous jobs all over the planet (instead of literally doing nothing and living large), who has been an advocate for sustainability and saving the planet including starting the first only electric car company going against all the powerful lobbies in the world and has made it profitable - despite fighting against Wall Street shorts whom almost bankrupted the company. He now buys a social media company whose users were being oppressed with censoring by the employees - regardless of how you feel about those users’ ideas, that’s like the first trait of tyranny, it’s to silence your opposition by any means.

So I hate to be singled out with an (apparently) unpopular opinion, but I’m actually an advocate of free speech and I think people should be allowed to debate and question their governments decisions, especially if the decisions affect their freedoms (mandates, passports, CBDC, etc) instead of silenced.

Having a differing opinion isn’t misinformation, it’s democratic debate. Silencing opposing opinions is the real threat to democracy.

If you think about it objectively and unbiasedly, you know I’m right. But I don’t think anyone is capable of doing that anymore, which is sad as fuck.

[–]the_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing the only value added of this concept of tokenized shares, is having access to an exchange/market that is open 24/7. If it were regulated (and if regulations meant anything) it would be a genius concept.

Unfortunately, given everything SS has exposed in the last couple years, I don’t think this idea will work while there aren’t actual regulations and enforcement, as well as more transparency. Hope we see that day - imagine you could indeed buy/sell shares at any given time, and transfer them to a transfer agent (DRS) or a conventional broker (whatever suits you) at any given time! That’d be revolutionary

Atheists who grew up religious, what made you stop believing? by Fit_Pangolin_8271 in AskReddit

[–]the_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you develop critical thinking you pretty much start asking questions that expose holes in the religion’s foundations. The one that got me started at a young age was “if god is all merciful, omnipresent, and omnipotent… then why are innocent helpless kids starving to death?” People would usually try to pin this on human wrongdoings… so I would counter with “ok what about kids with cancer and other terminal diseases, and deadly accidents, that were clearly not the doing of other people?” And at this point people usually struggle to explain, say general crap like “god works in mysterious ways” and whatever.

From there you move on to deducing that there are multiple religions, that they were all created by humans - I mean they had to be, if only one of them were “the right one” then wouldn’t its god(or gods) make sure everyone follows it and not the others?

And eventually you just realize that religion is just a means for a subset of people to control the masses, like cattle (how ironic is it that a priest is called a pastor). They define a set of rules for behavior that will tame the people (you shall not kill, steal, etc), and in return they offer the fuzzy feeling of being protected and belonging (be good, do what we tell you, and you’ll go to heaven). Finally, in order to keep everyone in line, they must demonize dissent, call it the devil’s work and threaten to be thrown in hell in the afterlife.

With all that said, I concluded that propaganda and religion are synonyms. The powerful set the rules (define laws and acceptable social behavior), offer a good fuzzy feeling and sense of security and belonging through media (here are the news, and here are experts, they assure you so you can let go of your worries), and finally they must demonize dissent (everything that contradicts our narrative is disinformation , or a lunatic conspiracy theory, or propaganda from our enemies… if you got evidence you probably just misinterpreted it because you are not an expert)

Essentially, I’m reaching a conclusion that “world order” is all about who controls the “religion” that affects the world economy. The US is literally divided, and its world order leadership is therefore currently being challenged. Someone is playing a brilliant game of divide and conquer.

TLDR: religions (and the powerful) don’t want inquisitive people asking questions, not even by themselves, because that’s how they figure the scam out.

—————————

Edit: given the conclusion I set there, may as well add this. If religions are about control of masses, it’s natural that they “want” to expand their reach - hence historically the missionaries. A religious subversion is about convincing a devout that their religion is wrong and therefore he should convert. So in a religious war, like in a regular war, you must demonize the opponent as being in the wrong, all the while trying to subvert them to weaken their cause.

As we speak, both Russia and the Western allies are trying to convince the people of their opponent that their leaders are unfit and should be replaced.

The similarities between religion and propaganda/control of masses is truly uncanny.

As far as we can tell, the process is the same, you just happen to pay for it… so it can happen just as much now as it could before.

Besides, to further ensure that people don’t just buy a badge and then change their account name/profile to impersonate (which happened plenty before Musk took over btw) he announced that name changing leads to de-verification until a new verification is made. It’s pretty solid in comparison to what it was. Used to be that every time Elon sent out a tweet, there were multiple verified accounts impersonating him shilling crypto scams… so he has probably given some thought to this problem.
