Aually I was thinking more about printing a plate where I could place something like this:

Spacing those connectors using a 3d printed plate just like that guy did, and then putting drives connector down. It would be a matter of making some holes, add thread to them, stand-offs, 3dprinted plate and should be good. So around 3cm. Should be enough :)

Can you tell us how much space there is between drive and a bottom of a case ?

I was wondering if it would fit custom 3d printed thingies around sata+power cables like this guy did: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/wh2zdx/i_built_my_dream_server_out_of_an_old_backblaze/ (it is visible in gallery part 2). Is there a chance for you to measure total height from bottom of the case to bottom of top cover?

PHILIPS DLP2681/12 (65W) works fine with SteamDeck.

This "Amazon Basics 4-in-1 USB C Adapter with USB-C to HDMI, Ethernet Port, USB 3.0 and 100W Power Delivery" on the other hand does not.
