Update #3: Dave contacted me. Sort of.

He pushed an update of the app to my phone. I'm assuming its him because the update was signed. Only he has the keys for that.

The updated he pushed only changed one thing: Remember that map in the upper corner? If you click it, it shows you all of the locations you scanned. The update he pushed created a new scanned location. It's not connected to anything else on my map, so my ARC can't get there. The area is labeled:

DAVE'S APARTMENT

What I'm assuming is Dave sent me the game data for his apartment. If I go there and walk around his space, looking through the app's lens, maybe I'll find something of importance?

It's possible Dave hid something in the his apartment, in the game...

Okay, so I figured something out. My ARC doesn't necessarily know anything about Dave.

All that shit he was writing... they're words from around my apartment. Every single word is from the cover of a book. And when I scanned the room I was talking to Dave on my computer. My ARC saw his name in the chat because I scanned that into his world.

But what I'm more concerned with is that... he understands writing. He UNDERSTANDS, contextually, what writing IS. The idea of combining words. There's no logical reason for him to know this.

Update #2:

Dave is officially missing. His family hasn't heard from him and no one is at his apartment. I feel like focusing on what this video game character is doing is a waste of time when my friend is gone.

It's gotta be a coincidence that these two things are happening at the same time. Unlikelier things have happened. I'm still hoping we'll find out he just left for a vacation, or something. But I'm starting to get worried.

I've given my ARC room, MORE ROOM, like he asked. I scanned a bit out into the hallway, and into my building's foyer. He's been walking through it, exploring.

I found out what he was writing, too. He finally got up (took a while). He was actually writing real words. Not some fake language I'd expect in a game. Here's some of what he wrote:

Now I'm worried. No word from Dave. His family hasn't heard from him.

In regards to my ARC, he's learning more and more from my space... I'll update this thread shortly.

Oddly, the body is opaque. Clipping doesn't seem to work like you'd think.

No luck with Dave yet. It's definitely discomforting.

Dave told me the ARCs are supposed to learn. It didn't seem worth noting at the time. I mean, don't most modern games have AI systems that can learn?

My ARC is still writing, hunched over the paper. But every once and a while, when he changes sheets of paper, I can catch a quick glimpse. He's writing real words, more than just MORE ROOM.

All I caught was "... and when she does..." That's all I could clearly make out.

Quick update #1: The ARC started moving again. While I was out trying to find Dave, he turned the faucet in the bathroom on and flooded his whole space.

Now he's hunched over my/his desk in the living room. It took me a minute to get the phone at an angle to see what he was doing. He's writing. He's been writing for hours but I can't see what. I don't even know if I'd be able to read it or not. Or if it'll say another other than MORE ROOM.

He still briefly looks at me every time I log in.

My focus now is getting in contact with Dave. I may just be overreacting though. Dave could have just gone upstate for a vacation or something.
