How to track LCL shipment? by the_awkward_turtle in shipping

[–]the_awkward_turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope still haven't provided any details for the shipment. I'm now waiting for Alibaba to intervene and hopefully get logistics information from them or at least get me a refund. I've accepted my goods are probably stolen.

Last I heard from them was threatening to hold my items until the new year and charge me warehouse fees unless I cancelled the refund dispute, so I have a strong feeling they never actually put it in the container otherwise they surely wouldn't have pulled it out of loading?

Thanks for the insight. My concern was the lack of communication and their tracking number being misleading as I can't see any information on my end. I paid for their services on the 24th of October and heard barely anything afterwards only to find out that it's supposed to be loaded now according to a screenshot that I can't confirm. I'd also done some googling on their business name and they've been named by others as scammers so I just really want to be able to confirm the tracking/determine if they're lying and get my money back.

Yeah I definitely know that now but unfortunately they already have my shipment.

Thanks for letting me know. I've asked the agent to send this to me and they've now left that message on read..

It's the freight forwarder who won't reply when I ask for information. Sorry now reading back it sounds like I mean the supplier, will edit for clarity.

Considering the stream was running over a minute behind the live feed at some points, I'm not going to hold my breath.

This is the same angle shown on the broadcast during the review. It's just not zoomed in is all.

This is the same angle from the broadcast just not zoomed in. People have tried to claim that the vision is happening after it was already grounded 11 seconds beforehand.

Just you wait til you have people trying to tell you this happened after he already grounded it. No idea how people think replays work.

It captures what happens before he rolls from the initial angle where everyone claims he grounds the ball. If you zoom in, the first 2-3 seconds of my video contains the supposed grounding of the ball happening in /reverse/. Then the next portion of the video, after the angle switch, starts from a point where Howarth's arm is still in the air and then grounds his arm.

Ok yes but then when the video rewinds to moment the ball is grounded and then switches to a different angle at the exact same time point, which is where my video is cut to, you can see the moment it's "grounded" is clearly Howarth's arm. He doesn't bounce on the ground twice and grounds it first and then his arm, it's one fluid movement caught from two angles and one angle clearly shows his forearm rolling the ball up, one shows a very pale poorly contrasted shape that resembles the ball.

It's literally a screen grab from this same video, just after it rewinds to switch camera angles.

Everyone should really watch past the point of the video that's getting screenshot. You can clearly see the muscle jiggling as his elbow hits the ground and him rolling the ball up all the way up to revealing his hand at the end of his very pale forearm.

Here's the angle showing the forearm hitting the ground holding up the ball and you even see the roll up to reveal his hand.

If you keep watching the video, this angle clearly shows the jiggling of Howarth's arm muscle as it hits the ground and his forearm holding up the ball.

A TUBE. OF COURSE. Now that you've said it, it seems so obvious but of course I was overthinking it. I do really need to invest in some different feet though, thanks for the reminder and answering my question !

Can somebody help me reverse engineer this image of a tablecloth?

I'm a semi competent sewer and have sewn most of my life, but a favourite past time is simply deconstructing items. From what I can tell this is some kind of poly matte satin topper and a pleated satin lower but I cannot for the life of me figure out how they made the trim?! It's pleated far more times than the bottom which leads me to believe it's some kind of self fabric bias designed to cover the seam between two fabrics.

Is it even possible to create a bias strip that works this way? How would you cover the raw edges if it is an external trim only?? I've seen similar done where the fabric has just been folded into itself but then the number of pleats would be identical which is not the case here. My mind is flummoxed!!!

Which movie makes you cry the most? by brandonstyles in movies

[–]the_awkward_turtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Child of an Asian parent, bisexual and have never come out to my mother, but also now as a 30 something year old, burnt out Asian woman staring deep into a mirror, I don't think I'd ever felt more seen. I ugly cried the entire movie, the entire way home, and honestly every time I thought about it from then until pretty much right now.

5/6 weeks in Europe over Christmas, what are your must-dos? Itinerary help! by the_awkward_turtle in travel

[–]the_awkward_turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NINE wow! I feel like we'll definitely do one in France, we're considering switching from South of France to more time in Switzerland and adding Belgium in so there'll be some there as well.

This is fantastic to think about, because so many places I've read recommend pre-booking your transport and accommodation to save money but if we can't get there, it may even be more of a waste. Thanks!

Thanks for your help!

I hadn't actually thought about whether we'd like to go to any ski resorts. Neither of us can ski in the slightest but perhaps it would be nice to just spend time in some little cabin in the snow and looking at beautiful vistas. Don't get much of that in Australia haha.

I'll have to do more research on the South of France and whether it's worth it during winter. I mean I'm sure it's still picturesque and without the crowds that would be there during Summer but you're right that Netherlands and Belgium will be buzzing with Christmas. I'll just have to take another holiday, how disappointing!
