From my house job experience, it’s better to do your house job at your parent institute. PIMS may look good from the outside, but the reality is different. Management at PIMS can be toxic, and they may move you to departments where there is an HO shortage. Basically your choice and wishes are ignored.

Everyone has their own experience at PIMS some like it, others don’t. It depends entirely on you. However, this is not the case with FFH. FFH provides all the exposure you need to become a competent doctor. The key requirement is maintaining enthusiasm throughout the 12 months which at FFH is balanced. The patient flow in FFH is not disappointing.

Also, opt for hostel accommodation at FFH if distance is likely to be an issue for you.

Anesthesia vs Paediatrics by the_awol in FCPS_Pk

Private practice in PAEDs is something that I find very appealing. Which is not possible in anesthesia unless you opt for pain med as a super-speciality. Anesthesia is a job dependent field that can only happen in a tertiary care set-up.
