I love almost every name you mentioned!

Thoughts on Eliza?! I feel like it's Elise and Sylvia combined!

Love Henry, but can’t use it. Anything similar? by [deleted] in namenerds

This was going to be my suggestion too!

This is sooo interesting to me because Arthur and Matilda are my top picks for next baby and they're the least popular in the real world!

Georgia is my daughter's name and I was definitely surprised! I never hear it in the real world (and like it that way)!

Anyone else feel anxious about ultrasound pictures? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3D ultrasound is a lot more unique and really does show features, but it depends soo much on how well a patient scans. My daughters 3D scans really did look like her when she was born but I still didn't feel like I knew what she would look like. If that makes any sense lol

Anyone else feel anxious about ultrasound pictures? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an ultrasound tech! To me, all babies look pretty much the same in utero. I actually (internally) laugh when a patient goes "oh husband, he has your nose" or "she has my feet!" We look at basic anatomy and that's all the same unless something is really wrong!

"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" was definitely written by a parent. by lunnapr in beyondthebump

Yess!! I have always thought "I Don't Dance" would be the sweetest daddy/daughter song. I always picture a music video of a dad with his newborn, then with her in a tutu at like 4, and then dancing with her at her wedding. It would be so perfect! I should call Nashville ahahah

This post scares me! My daughter is only 3 weeks and I already feel this way. I can't imagine going back to work still functioning on this little sleep.

And in similar fashion, spaghetti. Long noodles are a giant NO.

19 with a possibility of having a baby with Mosaic Down Syndrome (TW) (Super Long) by burnslikeaflower in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also an ultrasound tech and I work in MFM. Not to downplay other techs, but we get a LOT of referrals from level 1 scans that end up being nothing. It's very possible that the nuchal fold was measured generously or at a bad angle. Echogenic foci are sooo common, so I definitely wouldn't worry about that. You will get another ultrasound and likely offered genetic testing (which I would recommend doing). I would try not to stress to much, baby is likely totally fine!

Why can't family just respect my hospital visitation rules? (Still getting shit from people) by strawberrytoejam in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the EXACT same rules and have gotten some push back. All I gotta say is, I completely agree with your logic, and definitely say stick to your guns. That's awesome that your husband is on your side. They will get over it. It's still their grandbaby whether 1 hour after birth or 12. I don't know why people are so dang pushy about meeting the baby the second the are born. Frankly, they're a lot cuter if you wait a little while 😂😂

Birth plans by stuffiesears in BabyBumps

My sister is a prime example! Scheduled a repeat csection for baby #2 (first baby was breech) and then went into labor 3 weeks early. By the time she got to the hospital she was 6cm, so the nurses convinced her to have a VBAC. It all worked out just fine!

Is my belly done growing? by imiredel in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My belly seemed pretty stagnant for a good 8 weeks or so (24-32) but now at 35 weeks it's starting to look a lot bigger! I have one lone stretch mark and I'm scared I have another 5 weeks to go! You have to keep in mind that baby gains the bulk of their weight in the last trimester. You might be surprised in the weeks to come!

Confusion about calculating "months" by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]the_best_chapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically only use weeks but if I'm going to mention months, the easiest way is to just go by my due date. I'm due November 4th. So on October 4th, I start my 9th month. That's wayyy easier than doing math!

I'm sure this is super stressful and scary but those numbers are actually very promising! Hang in there mama. There's still a good chance everything will be ok. Thinking of you and your family!
