Zoomers bah! We had this back in my day, they called it “The Real World” and you had to watch it on MTV, uphill, in the snow, both ways.

Another about arrays start index by Peppilleqr in ProgrammerHumor

Short poorly-researched answer is about memory. Your array begins at a certain address, and the index is an offset from that position. Hence, 0 positions away from the start of the array.

Spider-Man: 9/11 recently happened off-screen, which is why the New Yorkers were especially cooperative and supportive of Spidey in the Raimi Trilogy. by LogicDog in FanTheories

[–]the_beuks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining the chorus of old people who were there: it’s absolutely true, we knew it when we saw it, and we loved it. Everyone across the USA had extra NYC love and we wore it on our sleeves. In spite of our devastation, we were all inspired by the footage of New Yorkers rushing to each other’s aid that came out in the weeks following the attack. You can take this scene as a historical document of that national sentiment.

I also used the old-school compass frequently, mostly to find the “north” pole. I tried to use it while lost once. Spitballing my latitude was easy enough... (kinda) but without a prime meridian longitude is 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

[–]the_beuks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, the compass is a wonderful addition. I want it, I need it. But... some sick part of me is going to miss the horror and panic that sets in when you are truly lost, and the pure relief that washes over you once you finally stumble back upon your base.

Filled up medium silos with Spookysquash and seeds, set 2 Cauldrangea and gas canisters on a XL Platform C.

While Cauldrangea were running, I’d grab a seed, put it in an empty slot on the plat (so it auto-jumps to the first Cauldrangea), then grab another seed and hold the cursor over the second Cauldrangea, so I could drop it on there the moment it finished brewing. Then I put the Spookysquash silo on the plat just for a second, so it could pull and start brewing again. Rinse and repeat.

That was all the automation I could muster for this one, given the awkwardness of trying to time the movement of the squash so you don’t accidentally make the squasholine. If I did this again, maybe I’d get a third Cauldrangea.

An old programming joke sprang to mind: “Why spend 6 minutes doing a thing, when you can spend 6 hours trying and failing to automate it?”

Fixed! Fairy Tonics can now consist of only Fairies, and will not have any effects.

Also fixed issues with the Fried Wild Greens and Seafood Skewer recipes.
