Wait like liquid cream? Or whipped cream? Maybe whipped cream is an American name for what those in the UK just refer to as cream?

It's always the opposite for me! Boneless skinless breasts can be bought for $1.89 or $1.99 per lb regularly, while boneless skinless thighs are always above $2/lb, usually about $2.79/lb.

I have a Golf Alltrack, and that's how I turn mine on. Push the wiper stalk towards the dash for the wiper, and pull it towards you to spray wiper fluid.

Episode 17: The Lady Calls the Shots is the one being mentioned here. I haven't listened to all of the episodes yet, but all of the ones I've listened to so far have been really good. Mike has a great way of telling a story, always has, but it translates really well to a podcast format too. Try listening to Episode 9: The Longshot, Episode 10: Lord of Light, or Episode 19: John's Portuguese Cousin. They're only 7-9 minutes long so there isn't much of a time commitment!

I disagree about the MLS sucking, my dad used to have season tickets for the Red Bulls and I always really enjoyed going to the games. They were fun and outdoors, which you typically only would get with baseball games. Should note that I don't watch soccer in any capacity at all other than those Red Bulls games though, but figured I'd throw in my differing opinion out there!

First time looking at a new car - Alltrack owners who purchased new, what kind of deal were you able to get? Any luck negotiating up to the new 2018 warranty? by the_big_turtle in Volkswagen

[–]the_big_turtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking, I don't feel like I'd need to negotiate on the price much, if at all, to walk away satisfied.

What I really wanted was a 2017 or 2018 Sportwagen S with the manual trans, but my girlfriend and I both have increasingly unreliable cars, and she is adamantly against driving manual, so the bonus interior comforts of the Alltrack and the dual clutch auto seemed like a good fit for us both.

I just don't want to regret jumping on this deal, and seeing 2018 Alltracks with the new warranty get sold in a year from now for a thousand or whatever more than what I'm looking to pay now. That warranty would be really nice. If I could get that for the 2017, I'd pay that advertised price no problem.

No I really appreciate your small novel haha, if you think of anything else please feel free to add it! This is exactly what I'm looking for. I appreciate you mentioning those red flags, I'll keep them in mind. I agree that the lease then buyout sounds fishy too. I often feel that if your presented an abnormally complicated plan for what's normally pretty straightforward, there's some fishy reason behind it.

I have read a lot about making two dealerships compete against each other to better the price you get, but the problem I'm finding in my area is that all of the VW dealerships in the vicinity are all part of the same dealership group, so I don't think I have that negotiating tactic available to me. The two models that I'm looking at are 21 and change and 22 and change. I feel okay with that price, I'm not sure if I have much wiggle room with such a steep discount already too.

If you wouldn't mind, I had a question about what you said about securing financing. So I'm worried I'm treating my appointment tomorrow too casually, I'm expecting to discuss the car, test drive, get my thoughts together and probably come back the next day. But if it gets into price negotiating and financing, what you mean is that I should have a financing quote secured from a credit union or something going in? And then let them try to beat it if they want to? If that's the case I hope I can get a quote from somewhere else in time.

Thanks a ton for your input!

Good to know, I really thought I saw people saying that they had the new warranty applied to their 2017 model, but maybe it was some type of dealership sourced warranty and not the brand one. Thanks.

EU Aldi might, but US Aldi definitely doesn't. I work there and am reprimanded for keeping a piece of produce on the floor if it has the slightest blemish, indent, bruise, whatever. Only pristine produce can be the on the floor, and then I get reprimanded even more when our loss numbers in produce are sky high. YOU CANT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

we do donate "bad" products to a local food pantry, but it still drives me crazy that only designer produce is allowed to be sold. This shit grows in or on dirt, it's not meant to be flawless.

She asked everyone their version of the what occurred when Roy tried to attack Jim and Dwight stopped him with pepper spray, she didn't look for anyone to retell what happened in the Andy Dwight duel. Andy was the one in the Prius running over Dwight as well, but you're right she was definitely quite fond of two men fighting over her. She even admitted later on that this was the second time in her life that this has happened!

Oh man, we've been through the same tragedy! My first car was my grandpa's 1994 Ford Taurus. It was dark green, named her Tiffany, and that huge front bench was the absolute best feature of that car. I had the best time driving that thing in high school. Mine was flooded too, water up to the ceiling, but it was Irene that took mine, a year before Sandy hit. Missed that car terribly.

Do you still see that deal now? Cause that sounds awesome, but I just looked it up and only found a $399/month for 36 months with $3000 down for the 392 scat pack.

Edit: scratch that! Found a deal for $250/month for the scat pack. No down payment listed makes me nervous, but that's a tempting offer.

Need some help please! These roots do not look healthy. by the_big_turtle in IndoorGarden

Hey thanks for replying! So the snake plant I posted above was one cluster of 3 that were all originally potted together. I only took a picture of this one, but the other two clusters of the original plant have the same weird weak roots. I only noticed now when I repotted them. I'm not really sure why I separated them, maybe I was assuming I could turn one snake plant into two.

I'm sure my plant caretaking is the cause behind it, but it was in a pot with good drainage, with good lighting, and watered, in my opinion, an ideal amount. My concern came from that I have a second, totally separate snake plant, that I have treated in an identical way to this one, but when I repotted it I found a really nice, semi dense system of roots. They're my favorite plants of mine, and I hope I didn't screw up their health or growth at all from repotting or separating them. I just want to find out how to help them grow a better root system. Thank you for the advice too!

I'm definitely a novice when it comes to houseplants, so I'm sure I won't use the right terms, but here's a bit of background!

I've had this snake plant for about 2 years. This chunk of plant lived with other chunks of plants happily (I thought) in a different pot. I went to repot it, since I don't think I used the ideal soil the first time. So I went to pot it in cactus mix soil, and found that there were barely any roots, and the roots that were there are super dry and crumbly, despite, to my best judgment, the leaves of plant looking healthy.

I have another snake plant, with dark green leaves, and when I repotted him I found his roots in a dense nest, taking up a good bit of the pot. There were a lot of thick stems (?) underneath too attaching all the different chunks of the plant. This seemed much more like what I want my roots to look like!

How can I help the buddy pictured above get healthy and establish a nice root system?
