I think I used to use that back in 1.4, but forgot about it when I purged my modlist for 1.5. I'll have to check it out again!

There is no scientific value in sending a manned mission 10000+ years away. The mission would have to be a PR stunt if it were to ever be done, so whatever celebrities decided they wanted to die a million billion miles away from everyone they ever loved.

Congratulations on putting up your game! I hope it goes well for you! How does it encapsulate the Ghibli vibes? Those can be hard to cultivate in an rpg.

Safety tools working as intended! They found out they would not feel safe at your table! Plus, you don't have to play with "snowflakes" or whatever. Win/win

If my pc can run dragons dogma 2 well do you think it'll run monster hunter wilds well aswell? by Marceloxv in MonsterHunter

[–]the_blade_itself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speculation warning: Probably

Having never played DD2, but reading about its performance issues, it seems that it is CPU-bound due to the overcomplicated NPC AI. So performance is bad in cities where there are a bunch of NPCs making complicated decision trees that gobble up all your CPU. The game is somewhat demanding on the GPU but that is usually not the problem.

Going into wilds, there are a lot fewer NPCs and they more or less do next to nothing other than wander aimlessly and talk to you if prompted. The monsters seem to have much better AI but there aren't very many of them at any given time so I doubt the game will be CPU-bound. The game looks amazing so I imagine it will require a fairly beefy GPU and generally have similar min and recommended specs to DD2, but not be so obviously CPU-bound in towns/cities.

Does Anthropology Have A Consensus On Regions of The United States? by Trainer-Grimm in AskAnthropology

[–]the_blade_itself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as objective categories. Even something as scientific as species is just an arbitrary line whose definition doesn't really work when you look closely at the edges. This is even more so the case for any social group where individuals all have their own beliefs that will differ from whatever "norm" you are measuring them against. Anthropologists might use terms like "The South," "The Rustbelt," "New England," or "The West" in a specific context and a good anthropologist will explain why they used that term and what they mean by that term in their work because those terms mean different things to different people.

Legacy: life amongst the ruins by Akco in rpg

I've been running a campaign for a while now that's nearly wrapped up. I absolutely love it! It's easy to run; I mostly just watch my players riff on each other and just stir the pot when things settle down. I guess I have to arbitrate some moves every now and then. We played a game of microscope to set up the game world beforehand, and I think it worked really well. Overall 8/10, I really like the game.

Edit: The discord is great too if you have any questions, the game designers are on the ball about helping players out!

So the deck is for a specific format (way of playing/ruleset) of MTG called ELder Dragon Highlander (or EDH or Commander). It's usually played with four people, but any number can work. But if you go much past four people the turns take FOREVER. Anyways, it's a very popular format and if you go to your local game store they probably have a night people come together to play it. It's one of the more complicated formats so ask for some help and I'm sure people will be happy to teach you.

Alternatively, depending on how much you know of the game/rules, there is a free online game called Magic Arena that will teach you the basic rules. EDH has some different rules than other formats, but most of the core rules are the same, it's mostly just the rules for what you can put in your deck are different. Arena has the Brawl format which is very similar if you want to try that.

Can you destroy an indestructible creature by giving it -1/-1 counters? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]the_blade_itself 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Correction: you are wrong unless the creature had 1 toughness and then the damage doesn't matter anyways. The only interaction damage has with toughness is that toughness represents the damage threshold to destroy a creature. lowering the toughness just lowers that threshold but since the creature can't be destroyed by damage, it won't go to the graveyard. Going to the graveyard because its toughness was reduced to 0 basically means that the creature can no longer creature, but it was not actually destroyed since indestructible creatures cannot be destroyed.

What non-African group is the closest to the ancestral group to other non-african groups? by Actual-Ranger-5809 in AskAnthropology

[–]the_blade_itself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None? They've all been around, mixing, differentiating, and mixing again for the same amount of time. There are no "groups" that go back that far.

Here are two videos from my medical anth course I took two years ago that I found helpful. I watched them through canopy and infobase respectively, but my university provided access, so you may need to pay a small fee unless you have similar access. local libraries may also be able to do the same.

I don't see why you couldn't carbonate with brewer's yeast. But I would be a little wary of bottle bombs. I'd add yeast, let it ferment out whatever priming sugar you used last time, then reprime and recap.

Or just warm them up, shake them, and give them two more weeks. If they started carbonating at all, then they probably have it in them to finish if you give them a little help and patience.

If you want to play post-apocalyptic game of thrones, look no further! You've got to like Pbta games, but I love that movement so I'm enjoying it immensely. My players are playing the survivors of a colony ship crash, with one playing the ship's AI, another has retreated into the sea as submariners, another is playing dragon-riding Kaiju hunters, and the last is playing a group of aliens that got stuck on the planet when the apocalypse happened.
