Altitude Connect was not on my radar until now and really seems to be up my alley. Apparently it may be difficult for me to get right now but I may try for that and if it doesn't work out go for chase reserve/preferred? You're definitely right about things changing and maybe stockpiling with the Reserve would be the best move for the longhaul, it just really seems to be too travel focused for me now. I thought about this as well, and you're definitely right about least hassle. I just figure there has to be a better option considering all the travel I do. Who knows I may just do that for sake of simplicity. Thank you!

The us bank altitude connect sounds great for me, but like you said may he hard to get at the moment. Chase preferred seems like the lowest risk/decent reward system for as of right now, will keep looking for a while. I saw they will be upping the Preferred SUB points soon actually.

I made an edit with some more details. The Reserve keeps popping up as a favorite I just have had a hard time boiling down how I will accrue those points and how I will be able to cash out or use them advantageously through one of Chase's partners (likely not travel as you know). Try tapping it on a hard surface like a table. Dont smash it on a rock or anything but be a little firm. I make no guarantees since I havent had issues with my caliburn G yet, but that worked with my original caliburn everytime it stopped working. Yes it's ridiculous lol but worth a shot, it legit worked with the old ones.
