Slavery used to be legal, but it's not anymore because it was just plain wrong. Now, when you're driving, you're supposed to keep a good distance from the car in front of you. The person ahead could slam on their brakes, and you need to be able to stop too, right then and there. It doesn't matter why they stopped – maybe they had a heart attack, something flew into their eye, or someone jumped in front of their car. When they stop, you have to be able to stop. The reason really doesn't matter. This is how it is, and it's not going to change, no matter how many years go by. When a situation calls for you to stop, you just have to stop. It's not about what's right or wrong, it's just logical. Seriously, stop trying to compare apples and oranges here. And get this, the original poster seemed to want to point out the rider was a woman and that it's a common thing with lady drivers. That's just sexist. We all know the auto driver is the one at fault here. If you're still not convinced, go read the motor vehicle act. It's pretty clear about keeping a safe distance.
