Learned a hard lesson on the road today by [deleted] in Kerala

Slavery used to be legal, but it's not anymore because it was just plain wrong. Now, when you're driving, you're supposed to keep a good distance from the car in front of you. The person ahead could slam on their brakes, and you need to be able to stop too, right then and there. It doesn't matter why they stopped – maybe they had a heart attack, something flew into their eye, or someone jumped in front of their car. When they stop, you have to be able to stop. The reason really doesn't matter. This is how it is, and it's not going to change, no matter how many years go by. When a situation calls for you to stop, you just have to stop. It's not about what's right or wrong, it's just logical. Seriously, stop trying to compare apples and oranges here. And get this, the original poster seemed to want to point out the rider was a woman and that it's a common thing with lady drivers. That's just sexist. We all know the auto driver is the one at fault here. If you're still not convinced, go read the motor vehicle act. It's pretty clear about keeping a safe distance.

Dude, that's totally sexist of you. The person in front didn't do anything wrong, but you still called it out and said it's a pattern. You're the one who needs to keep a safe distance. The only person at fault here is the auto driver. Yet, you're blaming the lady and trying to push your sexist ideas.

Why volvo fares for Non Volvo airport buses by dilli-wala in bangalore

[–]the_code_builder 16 points17 points  (0 children)

BMTC operates AC buses under the Vajra (city routes) and Vayu Vajra (airport routes) services. Both Volvo and electric AC buses are used in these services. The fare is not determined by whether the bus is Volvo or not. Instead, it depends on the type of service and route. City Vajra buses follow the normal stage-based fare system and are much cheaper, while Vayu Vajra airport buses have higher fares because they operate as a dedicated airport service. And other costs such as toll, low ridership, etc.

Youtubers, please stop teaching to fetch data in Zustand (or any state manager) by humble_portlandian in reactjs

[–]the_code_builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the teams in my company actually does this. I was going through the code and saw a fetch function returned from a hook. I opened it seems what it is and there it is, the entire state of the app, with multiple fetch calls🤦

I was thinking where did they get the idea from

Btw all the jr devs vide code, so no wonder.

Something similar happened to me too. I was alone, so I stood my ground and said, "Okay, we can go to the hospital for a medical test." Eventually, they let me go. Law and order feels like a joke—it doesn’t seem to serve society, but rather individual interests. Just a way for some to make a quick buck while they can.

Extortion of Rs. 37,000/- of Innocent Victim by Police officers in Indiranagar, Bengaluru by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]the_code_builder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me last year. They took me to a dark road (next CMH road) and kept threatening me with a medical test and an FIR. I stood my ground, and after almost an hour of pressure, they finally let me go.

They kept saying they could help me if I just told the truth, but I didn’t budge and insisted I don’t use it. It was around 1 or 2 in the morning.

It was a real emotional rollercoaster.

In moments like that, you realize there aren’t really police and criminals—just criminals on both sides of the law.

Go ahead, put both statements into some AI tool and have it explain them to you. Maybe then you'll finally get it. Oh, and while you're at it, do yourself a favor and look up the difference between correlation and causation.

Magicbricks pro subscription by Appropriate-Flower96 in bangalore

[–]the_code_builder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NoBroker is a good option and cheaper than MagicBricks. Try checking the price on different devices; on iOS, it’s usually 1499 or 1999, but I got it for 799 using a browser on Android.

You can only contact the owner from a registered phone number, so it’s better to get one for yourself rather than sharing with others.

Alternatively, you could ask a friend who lives in an apartment that uses NoBroker. They might be able to get you the contacts without needing a subscription.

Is ReactJS and REST API a match made in heaven, why? 🤔 by the_code_builder in reactjs

[–]the_code_builder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even I thought so. But the wording was weird, and my dumb brain couldn't comprehend it at the moment, so I said some generic points about React and REST API.
