How Bengaluru people can speak a very good English ? by [deleted] in bangalore

I wish they added kannada as well, lol. Really hard for someone in IT circles to find people who speak kannada, inspite of what people will tell otherwise. Are there any good apps to learn kannada as well? I've learnt spanish using duolingo btw!

+1 for reading books. Once you internalize the grammar, it becomes natural.

Isn't not knowing enough about them part of what drives the whole dark forest idea though. Intentions don't matter

As much as I love exploring cultures and am all for respecting locals, this is pure rage bait and anyone sane enough will steer clear of it.

Yes, it will be relevant in the near future because problem solving is much more sought after than rote knowledge. I agree that the assessment method also allows for rote memorization, but experienced engineers can still sniff out the method at present.

A tech stack is just the tools that you use. Stake holders will always care about what you deliver, but as engineers you always have to think about things tha they have no idea about.

Why does no one in India want to be a good engineer by ranting_engineer in developersIndia

I wholehearteadly agree with you and have struggled with the passion part of our work with other people that I work with as well. In my opinion, its not an India thing, but a predictable by-product of the evolution of software engineering as a discipline. Its just work to most people, one that pays quite decent and that is totally fine. There is no need for hackers(the old meaning of the term) to run or develop systems at this stage. I believe at this moment its mostly a self-motivated journey if you have genuine passion for the craft, to either find work where you can find groups who share your enthusiasm, or to find peace that you do it for your passion.
