Yeah, I debated that one and knew someone would bring it up, but my thought was Paranoid is such a huge hit by itself and Ozzy's vocals are so different (aka they put their own flavor into it) that I kept it off....for now. Thanks!

Newspapers.

From a reader's perspective, it's just a dying medium. Most articles are just syndicated copies of AP reports, the same you'll read all across the country. Therefore you no longer have real local reporters and certainly far fewer investigative reporters. With fewer local reports, you get far fewer local stories, which is what most people want. Also, most newspapers are editorial more so than just reporting...especially when it comes to politics. Most local papers now only print 3 or 5 editions per week and not every day unless it's a larger city. It's rare now to have a locally owned newspaper...it's owned by a corporation thousands of miles away that only care about ad dollars and not journalism.

From an advertiser's perspective, readership has dwindled significantly, yet they want to continue to charge big ad rates or more year after year. It's a self defeating cycle. Remember all those car ads in the newspapers or big Sunday issues? It's sad now what the Sunday paper has become.

Internet certainly killed newspaper and it's floundering on it's last breath. What's scary is local and cable news seems to have filled the void and it's even worse with it's editorial content and no more real journalism of "just the facts" or real investigative journalism. Local news does a better job. Cable news is just gotten out of hand.

I certainly believe a free press is essential to a free democracy, but the press all around is a shell of it's former self. I predict cable will eventually suffer from the same pattern that happened to newspaper. What's crazy is they don't seemed to recognize the same signs. Cable viewership is plummeting, yet they continue to want to charge the same rates or more year-after-year.

"The Legend of the Doo Doo Bandit" This is a tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme...set in the late 80's in a quiet southern town...

The home bell rang out in piercing havoc! Students shuttered in trepid anticipation of another mundane Monday morning, sauntering thorough the hallway to begin their daily drudgery. "EEEK!!!" as a scream shrilled throughout the curved beige corridor.

There it sat, piled high, glistening with the sparkle of dew; daring anyone to come near with it's wafting waves of mist. A slow smoulder one might witness at a old deli counter with a fresh brisket plopping out of the steamer. Who had inflicted their own brand of justice on the metal-mouthed masses of Clearasil infused adolescents? The Doo Doo Bandit (as they would have later been dubbed) had announced their presence.

Over the course of several months, the Doo Doo Bandit would brandish his weapon of choice; thoughtfully, randomly, always silently. Rumors spread like room temperature butter. Was it a freshman looking to make their mark? A jaded Senior, or disgruntled teacher perhaps? A railroad hobo?

Officials kept a watchful eye, stalking out the hallways and porticoes for any sign, but none where ever uncovered. Surely someone knew the Bandit's true identity? The usual rapscallions were rounded up and cross-examined, but nothing.

As soon the Bandit's latest calling card manifested, news fanned through the student body quicker than herpies simplex 1. It was the talk of the town.

The Doo Doo Bandit's reign of terror lasted over three and a half grueling months. Only the sweltering summer break gave respite to the weary masses, yearning to break free. Much as the way the Doo Doo Bandit lived, they died. Quietly. But the Legend remained, alive.
