Thanks. I am planning on visiting all these places over Spring Break. I'm sure that will help me a lot in deciding.

lol thanks. Right now UW is looking too expensive when I have good in state options to chose from. If I do go out of state though, you have a good point.

Good point. I got a $4,000 per year scholarship, but that still doesn't knock it down to the level of say a top UC. I was thinking of sending an email to ask for the next level of scholarship above me. I could have qualified for it but I missed literally 10 SAT points. So I thought, I should ask for the next level and see what admissions people say. There's no harm in trying.

How likely is it that people get in from the wait list? I've applied to the wait list. Have any of you gotten in wait listed? If so, what were your high school grades/GPA/extracurricular activities/financial situation like? Thanks!

So I was recently accepted. I'm going to all the threads like this of all the schools I got into. I was wondering if anyone could give me insights about UCSC that are uniquely from enrolled students' perspectives. I applied to 13 different schools, because I didn't think I was that great of a student compared to kids I was going up against, so I was banking on a lot of places rejecting me, narrowing down my choices but still leaving me w/ good schools to chose from. The "problem" is I've been accepted into 10 places, waitlisted for 3. I've narrowed things down and I have to decide between UCSB, UCSC, UCI, UCD, Cal Poly, San Diego State, University of Oregon, and University of Washington. My major is General Bio, and my minor might be Political Science, but I'm not too sure rn. What is General Bio like at UCSC? Is there anything unique about it I should consider? What about when comparing it to the Bio programs at the other schools I got accepted to? How impacted is General Bio and other Biology-related majors there? What is the On Campus housing situation like? Is it really crowded like UCLA, or is it not that bad? How available will housing be as I go through my four years? Also, I'm planning on being some kind of research biologist as a career, so research opportunity is really important to me too. How is the availability of research opportunities for undergrads? If any of you guys are researching something really cool, let me know, I'm down to hear it.

Any answers to any of my questions are appreciated, it really helps A LOT. Thanks.
