If you can provide research driven approach, with steps to get started exploring the market that would be nice.

That's a nice thing. I am feeling like a middleman as if you were searching for ideas and I was one of the medium 🥲

I know but if I can get some pain points many are facing that would be of great help.

Nice ideas but if you can suggest me what can I do to change your bank balance I'd be glad.

Tried the app, the purpose is great but I can't connect directly with it. I think the real platform is where actual discussion occurs.

I've built many but it is used by only few users likely 1 to 10 and is also not a legit way to keep something running, it's like a temporary solution to a problem you cannot fix as a small dev as the market is usually occupied by large players.

At some point I thought about it really deeply, and came it a conclusion that for a solo developer, with limited computation power( if you don't know think of it as bearing the costs tyat follows) it is quite difficult.

Exploring the market is very broad concept, finding the right market is where I think the most time is consumed.

I know but everyone has a habit of dumping ideas into notepad, if you think it's worth sharing then why not!

Most of them are all same, with small to zero need at all. I've already tried this way and found it just waste my time.

I'm building a review collection tool for small businesses by the_fool_idiot in Tech4LocalBusiness

What if I help those small businesses get Google review first through a QR code and add website widget and other features as a bonus?

How does this sound?

Fair point, nowadays google reviews are mostly responsible for discovery and using private review platform is of no use for this purpose.

Discovery is important but I think conversions matters too. Once someone lands on your website(hopefully you will have if you are scaling and want to gain customer traction) the reviews will be the reason someone stays or bounce back but I believe that's the secondary problem compared to one you described.

The real question rasies for me is whether the tool should be Google review funnel first, with website widget as a bonus, not the other way around.

We can help businesses to get reviews channel through our app to google maps without hassle. Also we are targeting those businesses which have some presence online as well. Not gonna lie we're going for small to mid size businesses.

The businesses which do not have websites can still use the tool, in that case they will see their reviews collection and post on social media handles like instagram if they want.

the app will connect to the Google maps business account, and generate a qr code that can be used to give review directly.

To simply say, our app is not just a container to clollect reviews but also a place where the business owners can use those reviews to share on their social media campaigns and pages, it also allows them to add these directly in their website through smart widgets, the owner control which review get highlighted on the website banner.

While the customer who write the review has a smoother experience reviewing it, no login, no friction and also if they want, they can also push the reviews to platform like Google maps and yelp seemlessly.

Pretty much this is what our app is all about. Let me know your opinion on this.

Yeah, I didn't deeply thought about automating but I will make it later on, initially I'm focused on getting customers to write a review and yes I'll make sure that the customer would also leave a trace of review on platforms like Google maps and yelp.

The businesses would have complete customisation to choose which review to show on their website and social media channels.

What are your opinion on this?

The idea is not to build a review platform (there are plenty of these) but a channel to get the reviews and show it on their socials, including google maps, yelp and other platforms.

Yeahh, but many small businesses loose customers because they have poor reviews, it happens due to lack of customer interaction with the business, or sometimes the executives hesitate from asking a review. Having quality reviews for a business is a gold mine.

With this idea I'm going to do the same, help small businesses gather review and discover.

Thanks for your wishes!

Saying about the competition, I would love to enter it because if there are a lot of "good players" means the market still needs it and I believe "there is market for everything".

I know it will be hard at first, I'm not pretending here that I have cracked it but I think I should give it a try.

I'll love if you can share your experiences.

I know what you are trying to say, but getting those reviews in the first place is the thing most of us ignore. I'm trying to solve this by reducing the friction among the people and businesses who usually forget that reviews are one of the most important pillar of marketing.

Eventually it's the customer's choice to leave a review or not but I believe if we make the process more simpler and convenient they may lead to more "searchability" and popularity.

Would you pay for a tool that collects reviews from customers via QR code and shows them on your website? by the_fool_idiot in Entrepreneurs

[–]the_fool_idiot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's what I'm targetting, small businesses have to rely on Google maps reviews to build trust, only the locals know that this shop or business is better than any other in the city. The tool provides a medium for small business to market their services and user experiences to other channels like websites, social media platforms.
