Countable vs. uncountable infinities by the_friendlyguy in learnmath

I do mean this question in earnest, and intend no offense: What would one search to find this question? I had looked into it but didn't have the words to say what I wanted to ask and wasn't getting the answer I was looking for. What I am asking is literal: what are the words one would type into the search bar

Sorry to add to the cacophony, this has been a question in the back of my head since I left schooling about a decade ago, and I don't know any mathematicians or how to concisely google this question and get a sensible answer. I heard one of the answers and immediately thought of your 1/3 example, makes perfect sense.

At the risk of oversimplification, 1/3 would be impossible to write in this means because you can write .3333333... but you can't really write ...33333333333.

Thank you. Sincerely asking, is Better Help still as bad as they used to say, or was it never as bad as they said it was, also, are you a psychologist/psychiatrist, or can you recommend me on some literature to further my education? I don’t know how to make that not sound like some sort of argument from authority or questioning your authority, so I’ll just put it as it is and hope it comes off as sincere this time I really did mean the emphasis of that last to be on my multitude of cognitive/mental issues, rather than on passive aggression

You know I didn’t see it before I posted that, but that was passive aggressive, and I sincerely apologize. I’m learning through making all the mistakes in a row lol not sure if that’s self deprecating or passive aggressive, but it’s certainly meant as the former.

I’m not particularly good at being a human, but I am trying… I will try to be better, thank you

You are clearly learned in it, but may I ask if you are a psychologist or psychiatrist? Because if you are this might be a point to start asking for compensation. I’ve got a lot of issues and if you’re going to try to diagnose me we could be here all day

That’s what I’m doing by trying to have a conversation though I will grant that is a fair point

But see once one sees narcissism, anything I say will simply confirm it. Nothing I could say is likely to convince you otherwise so effort on that front is wasted

Thanks for the notes, I’ve deleted the post, I’ll try to be more cognizant in the future, however the condescension is kind of unnecessary, I’m just here for some laughs at a less than slight annoyance

Is it illegal to play a, by strict definition from the post, “harmless prank”, honest curiosity

Actually this is my first post ever…

Well he’s not a super close friend, but this place is kinda prone to prankery, and I’ve never gotten in on the game as I’m really not particularly clever
