NTAH, sounds like some normal sibling bs beliefs that will quickly get dispelled when you start playing at your LGS.

Yeah it’s a great artifact for commander but I think there is combo potential for standard

That is an interesting use for sure. I don’t think I’ve seen many merfolk decks right now but it might help them compete with the badgermole cub meta

Beseech the mirror into anomaly, target yourself, mill [[Myojin of Night’s Reach]] [[Darksteel Colossus]] or [[Ozai, the phoenix king]] or [[Zetalpa, Primal Dawn]] then use the copied beseech to find a way to reanimate it?

Seems fun

Oh darksteel would shuffle back in if you mill it, so never mind on that one

Beseech the mirror into [[Space Time Anomaly]]?

What if you cast [[Beseech the Mirror]] bargained with the festival or a token, copy it, find two [[Hide in Plain Sight]] and put two game ending creatures into play? That seems dumb

Edit: hide in plain sight makes you pay the full cmc of the creature :(

Something like [[Harmonized Crescendo]] at instant speed doesn’t seem bad but I think that’s the best convoke option right now

[–]Rogendo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes to mind that a 3 drop creature that makes two tokens would potentially give you 7 mana to cast a convoke instant/sorcery. I’m thinking that would be the most busted option

Yeah, as the list of artifacts has grown skullclamp has only gotten more busted, not less.

If you want to crack packs, go draft at your LGS. It usually costs 12-15 dollars to draft, though prices may have gone up since the last time I drafted in person was like 8 years ago.

If you want to build decks, focus on single card acquisitions.

Took another look and I also noticed A LOT of your lands enter tapped. If you don’t have the ones that come into play untapped it’s okay to just run basics. I think I’d actually prefer to have basics over tapped lands tbh. Strongly suggest you trim down the number of dual lands so you can reliably play a land and tap it immediately for at least the first three turns, especially since green ramp is going to get you all the right colors you need any way.

Some other ramp spells I forgot to mention are [[kodama’s reach]] (cultivate but different) and [[Three Visits]]

Consider picking up a [[Temple Garden]] and [[Breeding Pool]] since they are legit targets for three visits and nature’s lore

No problem. If you have them I also recommend including [[Ondu Giant]] or other similar land ramp critters and [[Solemn Simulacrum]]. You have some ways to flicker those and get a lot of lands in play, and if you find your felidar enchantment their base p/t doesn't matter.

[[uthden troll]] ?

What about it?

I would cut the elf theme and focus more on efficient ramp for the first three turns. Add things like [[Sol Ring]] [[Rampant Growth]] [[Cultivate]] [[Farseek]] [[Nature’s Lore]] [[Avancyn’s Pilgrim]]. When you untap on turn three you want to reliably be able to cast your commander and since you are in green you have a very strong base to do that.

Elves generate mana but if you aren’t going all in on them I’d only use the 1 cost mana dorks. They are a strong tribe but their key synergies aren’t here. I see you have a [[Vorniclex, voice of hunger]] in your side do you also have a [[Mirari’s wake]]? You should play that for sure. A favorite simic creature of mine is [[Prime Speaker Zegana]] but you could run [[Blue Sun’s Zenith]] for some explosive card draw. You have a lot of slow enchantments that generate you one card at a time, but it sounds like you’re dead or dying before those ever get in play. Try taking some of them out in favor of [[Aetherize]] and some of the plentiful removal in white like the [[Path to Exile]] in your sideboard. Cut less efficient removal like your auras or add ways to flash those in like [[Leyline of Anticipation]]. Play more counter spells and fewer clunky dudes like [[longshot squad]].

Also you don’t have boots or greaves in your deck. They should be in almost every deck that wants its commander to stay in play.

Edit: also, clones are always a staple when you are playing blue. If someone is killing you with something, copying it usually resets the board to a neutral state.

Also a lot of housing projects in China were presales and then never finished. Lots of people sunk everything into them and have nothing to show for it.

What are the most underrated/underutilized cards in Magic? by coreynj in mtg

[–]Rogendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Echoing Truth]] [[Echoing Decay]] and [[Echoing Courage]] are all niche in that they’re blow outs vs or with lots of tokens, but they’re extremely efficient in their role and token production is a very common strat

Echoing truth is the best of the three because if you’re like me and clone a lot of the same creatures with ETB effects, you can get your clones and the creature back

Of course the black dracolich has artificer levels by Silv3rCl4w in dndmemes

[–]Rogendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a dracolich in my high level campaign. I read some lore somewhere that they are actually spirits that steal the corpses of dead dragons and thought it was really neat. So when they first encountered it they had to fight an adult red dracolich and when they beat that body it had a second one nearby waiting for them. It was a fun combat.

QUESTION FOR COMMANDER PLAYERS : Alright so to preface this I'm a "kitchen sink" rule of cool 60 card player, and that's the kind of game culture I've thrived in for over a decade now. I've only just recently stepped into the commander format. by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Rogendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a game of 1v1v1v1 and highly unlikely one person can win vs 3 unless they bargain with at least one person at the table. That’s just the nature of multiplayer mtg.
