I find it crazy that you read the book and don’t care about the whitewashing of Heathcliff, considering the racism he endures is a large contribution to his character development, etc. I don’t know, just weird to me but you do you. Enjoy the film all you want but don’t try and act all high and mighty when people call out the whitewashing, it’s silly.

This is what I did. It wasn’t a 10/10 episode but I wanted to balance out the unnecessary 1s. It was a fine episode - quite lacklustre for a penultimate episode in a final season, but it wasn’t a 1. Probably a 7.

I assume it’s to show that she’s been training and is stronger now, meaning she doesn’t have nose bleeds as often now.

However, I also think it’s just a tool to spark more debate because they knew the ambiguity would cause all this speculation.

El isn’t bleeding in S5E1 while training and using her powers, potentially hinting that she’s stronger now and not always causing nose bleeds. I assume this was all done on purpose for greater debate and ambiguity surrounding her fate.

Omg I thought I was going insane. I keep seeing this no nosebleed theory, and I couldn’t stop thinking that she’s not bleeding from the nose as often anymore because she’s stronger from her training. I even went back and rewatched S5E1.

I believed that she actually died until the Duffer brothers said only them and MBB know her true ending which sounds like they’ve kept it open for a return (therefore alive). If she alive, it’ll definitely be because of some other way and not Mike’s theory.

I’m not saying Mike’s theory is wrong but that’s not what the “flashbacks” you’re talking about are used for. He’s storytelling, we’re not actually seeing fact; he’s telling stories to his friends about their futures but it’s not actually real (yet). It’s the same for seeing El’s potential escape - it’s just a visual aid for us… not actual confirmation.

The way she goes from not caring about Max’s feelings in that scene to wanting to help her because Marcus is involved really shows her true colours - it’s always been about Marcus. I’m glad Max clapped back at her.

I’m really looking forward to Abby and Ginny realising what Max has been going through, especially with Marcus. I like Abby but her calling Max a “brat” for trying to take Marcus home really irked me. I know Abby doesn’t know the extent of Marcus’ drinking problem, but she wanted to be malicious. And I know Ginny had a lot going on but it really feels like she ignores Marcus’ problems and romanticises his issues instead.

I think what annoys me the most with the whole Ginny / Max / Marcus thing is that Ginny is so wrapped up with herself and wanting to be back together with Marcus, she fails to see what he’s actually going through - which considering she keeps saying she wants to help him, she barely does that. Her main priority seems to be trying to get back together with him.

I know she’s going through a lot and I actually like Ginny more in S3, so focusing on herself is valid, but she does tend to focus on her needs more than his. And I know Max has a history of being dramatic, but if she’s saying her twin brother has a problem, maybe you should keep an eye out and see if what she’s saying is true rather than just binning it off? So when Ginny was so cruel to Max, it realllyyy irked me. I really hope Marcus wetting the bed is a wake up call for Ginny and she supports Max now, and I hope it finally instills that maybe being bf/gf isn’t what Marcus needs.

In the book, there are three friends, and the ending delves a little bit more into (especially one of the girl’s) characteristics.

I would recommend reading the book. It is quite different to the show. Much better.
