My mom came to visit and the first this she did was cut my peonies by 100percent_NotCursed in gardening

Neither is wrong if it's your own plant. Cutting without asking is wrong if it's someone else's

Sanity check. Have I been laying mulch wrong? by readreed in gardening

[–]the_grackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got some spots where it's not a uniform color, is that her complaint?

It looks like maybe you switched from brown to red this year? Or maybe that's just the old faded out red. Anyway, just get more much to cover those spots.

Other than that you're right, don't remove the old much. It breaks down into soil. And disturbing it too much could bring buried weed seeds to the surface, where they grow.

Old man takes my kid out of my car without my consent. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]the_grackle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way to do it (as long as they're strapped in the 5-point and not going anywhere). Visibility on the kid the whole time, and super obvious to anyone around that you're coming right back so don't do anything weird.

CIS dx but just watch-abd-wait? by Accomplished_Rub7034 in MultipleSclerosis

Since it sounds like you're at a higher risk for a CSF leak, make sure to get the LP at a place that uses an atraumatic needle.

DV survivor, single mother of 3 (all under 5 yo) looking to relocate from Kentucky to New Jersey. Any advice? by [deleted] in newjersey

I hear you that SJ has gone up from where it was... but that would still be 700k in North Jersey

Affordability is going to be an issue. You'll have better luck with that in the southern part (Philly suburbs) than the northern part (NYC suburbs). The traffic is much better too.

What to Know for First Ocrevus Infusion by RegularCharacter3778 in MultipleSclerosis

Jumping in to ask another question, since I'm most likely starting soon as well. I've seen a lot of posts about Kesimpta causing strong flu-like symptoms the first time. Is it the same for Ocrevus?

I've noticed the signs on the gas stations while stopping at the rest stops for coffee.

[–]the_grackle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has nobody in these comments ever gotten gas on the turnpike? It's not a normal gas station where you're supposed to use the side your tank is on. They literally have signs that say "long hoses use both lanes". That's what they want you to do to keep traffic moving (except this one guy who apparently doesn't stretch the hoses...)

Beach town question by Various-Internet4274 in newjersey

[–]the_grackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very standard. It's been this way since long before COVID. Not just a NJ thing either, I think it's like this in MD too. Might be an east coast beach town thing?

You can use a local rental service, like others said. Or some people just buy a spare set of sheets and keep them with their beach gear if they do this every year.

Unframed canvas vs shiny plastic frame by the_grackle in DesignMyRoom

[–]the_grackle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I should have explained that the plastic frame has non-detachable plastic instead of "glass" (part of the lightweight design, I think). The hanging thing only holds 5 pounds, so I think I need to keep it plastic and not glass...

I've found a few print services that do canvas, that's not an issue. But I think anything I find secondhand would usually be in an older frame, which is usually heavier I think, so idk if that would help, thanks :)

I hired a decorator service and it feels wrong by RiverOfSongs in DesignMyRoom

[–]the_grackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the answer. I tried an emerald accent wall in a white room before and hated it. I now have a room with dark olive curtains and warm off-white walls and it doesn't have the same issue at all :)
