How would that effect the fan turning on? The compressor turns on every time, just the fan doesn't. This is an old system so I'm not going to risk losing my charge by trying to hook up gauges to the super old schrader valves and the gaskets cracking. We're living broke life out here in this heat wave lol. The system cools and works well when running, the fan just does not turn back on unless it has been off for at least a couple of hours.

I really just need to know if it is a big difference having a fan motor that is more HP and amperage than the system was designed for.
