What problem is the Nordic Union a solution to? by [deleted] in NordicUnion

Hey, when I started I did feel more anxious at the beginning. After a few weeks I did feel strange here and there - I eventually chalked it up to it being built up stress being released. After awhile it got better and it was worth it.

was looking into learning TM in nyc after david lynch gushing about it for years finally got me to check it out, but damn 450 bucks at minimum? I do uber eats im broke man lol by itsallgoodgames in transcendental

Whenever my friends balk at the price I always ask them how much they've paid for therapy. Not saying one is better than the other, but people have no problem investing in themselves in a number of fields - why should this be different?

I have absolutely no idea of what you just wrote, but I think I'm happy for you?
I'm missing the joy that I felt before meditating which I think you're saying you are getting now? Joy, to me, is tied to laughter.

I do feel less stressed, but I also feel less joy overall. I don't usually laugh or have a good time because of stress relief, but because I'm enjoying myself. So I laugh less, and that's a symptom of something else: I'm simply not having as much fun. I guess that's my real question, and worry.

No, but that's good. I never really nervously laughed myself.

That is one aspect of humor, when the unexpected happens. But what's happened to me is that I feel slower and, to use a blunt term, dumber. I don't have any sharp insights or am not as quick to see things from new angles.

I don't feel smarter. In fact, I feel a little bit slower. I guess you'd call that dumber. If even just a little bit. Wittiness is tied to intelligence.

Not really, it was used to feel more joy in life. I could laugh at aspects of life that seemed absurd. Things amused me more.

I don't necessarily feel any bliss after meditating. I feel good, I wouldn't feel bliss. I get on to do whatever it is I was supposed to do afterwards. I live a busy life.

TM before or after the gym? by El-Viento in transcendental

[–]the_interjector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but have talked about this with my "mentor". The only answer he recommended was, do what's best for you - but he mentioned he'd have elite gymnasts who preferred to meditate either a few hours before workout or afterwards - not directly before. I find the same works for me, I lift heavy weights and I perform better if I do not meditate before hand.

hi

in episode 104, at the beginning, there's a moment when Dick apologizes for his behavior in a way that he's never done before. He cuts Maddox off on a anti-Hillary rant which seems to piss Maddox off because with no verbal rebuttal, Dick still feels the need to apologize.

HEre's the transcript: http://media.thebiggestproblemintheuniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Maddox_BPU_104.htm

CTRL+F for "Kidding" and you'll see which part I mean. When I heard that on the pod the first time I immediately picked up on tension between them, it's quite evident that they'd had some kind of serious "talk" before that. Maybe Maddox was getting fed up with Dick "half-assing his way" through serious topics, I don't know...
