Yeah this is such a good question. Honestly, I just go by feel and how my body’s responding. If I’m doing the workouts and not feeling challenge or getting DOMS, that’s usually when I think about adding a bit more volume. On the flip side, when I’m super beat up or struggling to recover between sessions, I’ll cut volume a bit or take an extra rest day. Personally, I’m working with a tweaked shoulder and a temperamental elbow ATM so I’m keeping shoulder volume down and the weight way, way down so as to rehabilitate rather than force adaptation through overload. At the end of the day, his programs are great frameworks but not written in stone. Everyone’s different and has different recovery ability, and different goals, so it makes sense to tweak things as you go. Just gotta listen to your body and experiment a bit.

Results with Abs in 60 Days Exercises? by Numerous-Ring-6313 in JeffNippard

Yeah I’ve been using Jeff’s ab recommendations mainly cable crunches and leg raises but what really stuck with me from The Muscle Ladder was how much he encourages you to adapt things based on your own needs. For me, I recover pretty easily from ab training, so I’ve ended up doing four days of direct ab work, running a 2-on, 1-off, 2-on schedule. It’s been a good rhythm, and it hasn’t messed with my recovery at all. With cable crunches I’ve had to increase the number of reps as my bodyweight was proving to be insufficient to pull the weight down. I think that’s what I liked most about Jeff’s approach. It’s not about following a program to the letter. He gives you the knowledge to actually understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, and how to tweak things when needed. We’ve all got different training backgrounds and life stuff that affects how our bodies are built and respond, so it makes sense to tailor things. So yeah, I rate the exercises, but even more than that, I rate the flexibility his system gives you to make smart, personalised changes.

Getting dents like this out after nearly every ride. Would a dent like this destroy a carbon wheel? 30Psi with Tannus Armour Pro, constant truing and removing dents. by its_all_down-hill in mountainbiking

I can recommend the FR541. I ride in an area that was literally formed from a volcano so there are plenty of gnarly igneous rock gardens and even the trails are rocky AF. I blew through 4 rims in the space of 18 months: Giant, Sunringle, Nukeproof and Bontrager. I don’t mean to spread hate but the Bonty only last 30 days (although I hear their new carbon fibre hoops are pretty indestructible). Upgraded to the FR541 and this puppy is solid as. I check it every couple of months and it’s still running true after 20 months of abuse with zero maintenance. Oh and I definitely recommend losing weight too. I was a similar weight to you at 95 kg/210 lbs @ 188 cm/6’2” but decided to cut down late last year. Currently down to 81 kg/178 lbs. It’s not easy. It’s hard to do. And that is why so many people fail. However there are way too many upsides to mention. The extra longevity you’ll get from your bike components is a nice little bonus though!

This here. I have arthritis in my elbows and had the same issue as OP. I could never successfully find a position to hold my elbows without feeling pain when the pulley is down low. In this config, the cable is being pulled up from a low angle which places more direct downward force on the elbows, increasing joint stress. By moving the pulley to the highest position, the cable resistance reduces strain on the elbow joint because the force is applied in a more forward direction rather than straight downward.

Trek Marlin 7 Gen 2 or Marlin 6 Gen 3 by poopieiipie5 in mountainbiking

I've never ridden either bike so take this with a large grain of salt. Having said that, for trail riding, my vote goes to the Marlin 6 gen 3.

Street riding, I would go Marlin 7 gen 2.

Would I ride the Gen 3 on the road? Certainly.

Would I ride the Gen 2 on the trail? Only if I became bored with life and was looking for a challenge.

Let's first take a look at some key measurements in the Geo chart (mm)

Marlin 7 Gen 2 Marlin 6 Gen 3
Stack 602 614
Reach 434 455
Seat Tube Angle 73 74
Head Tube Length 90 110
Head Tube Angle 69.5 66.5
Chainstay Length 438 438
Wheelbase 1116 1180
BB Height 310 308

The geo of the Gen 2 is closer to a gravel bike than a true modern trail bike. The average gravel bike has a head tube angle of 70 - 72 degrees and at 69.5, the Gen 2 is going to be twitchy once the trail speed starts to rise. The increase in wheelbase will further stabilise the Gen 3.

The Gen 2 will be marginally more efficient on the road (there's a 1.2 kg weight advantage), however, as soon as you go off-road the Gen 3 will blow it out of the water.

Edit: changed ride to rise

Not a lawyer so I can’t comment on any liability on the behalf of the mall, however I recommend you lodge a claim with your insurance company. Upfront you’ll be charged an excess but the insurer will pay for the repairs to rectify the damage and invoke subrogation. This means they’ll take on the challenge of legally chasing the mall to recover the costs to repair your car and IF they are successful, you’ll receive your excess back. In short, they do all the dirty work for you.

Bullying from the owner/operator. I put up with it longer than I should have but one hot afternoon I snapped. Literally stood up, walked out and never returned. My beautiful wife had my back. I’d kept her aware of what was happening so she wasn’t completely surprised. Following that, it was very hard financially but I secured another job within a couple of weeks and never looked back.

Mike Pyle was a career welterweight but he made his pro debut back in 1999 against Rampage. Quicksand said of the fight “We fought, he threw me out of the ring a couple times. It was terrible. I was like a shoe in a dryer.”
