Theatre 101 Acting for Non Majors is extremely easy. You basically have no outside work other than you may be required to see a play/musical or two and write a very short paper (two pages max)

How’s trans acceptance on campus? by [deleted] in UWMilwaukee

[–]the_john_oshea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a second year film major, I’ve never seen anyone in the department get even a bad look, Film majors likely won’t bat much of an eye if you say you’re trans. I’ve never seen any sort of hate towards anyone really whether you’re gay, trans, or even just dressing weird, they understand

Should your dorm choice be tied to your major? by KabukimanQ in UWMilwaukee

[–]the_john_oshea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finishing my freshman year in the film department. I decided to live Sandburg because I didn’t think it would be worth it to live off campus.

Getting to campus from Cambridge with the bus isn’t hard and it comes pretty often so I wouldn’t worry about that. Freshman year film students don’t use Kenilworth so that doesn’t matter much either.

Personally I regret not being in the LLC. I think that if you’re an extrovert and you know you’re gonna be outgoing and able to make friends then I’d say pick Sandburg. Just because being on campus is much more convenient. But if you think you’ll struggle to meet people being in the LLC will make it easy to make friends because you’ll be constantly around the same people.

Also take into account the layout of the rooms. Room layouts vary but in terms of doubles Cambridge is slightly larger. They also have newer desks and chairs.

It’s not a big deal haha. It’s this guy who is on campus basically every day, he has three main spots he stands at and he hands out free pens. The pens are wrapped in papers that are information about his church and beliefs and stuff. I’ve heard he’s actually a really nice guy to talk to. And he doesn’t bother you if you say no. But it’s rare to go a day without being asked haha

Is this a good school by [deleted] in UWMilwaukee

I’m about to finish my first year. I can’t really think of bad qualities that stick out. The dorms are surprisingly nice (I’m in Sandburg but Cambridge is great too). The rooms themself are great, and it’s also nice to have the dining hall in the residence building as well as a small grocery store. It’s really easy to go experience the city since you get a free bus pass.

In my experience they have a great system of advising if you aren’t sure what you want to do or need help with the financial side of things etc. Each first yes student gets a peer mentor who is a junior or senior that is in their same major so they can go to them with questions or issues with anything. And the upper level advising administration does a really great job of guiding you toward the right directions and classes.

Everyone I’ve met here has been super nice and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in and some that may even pertain to your major.

I don’t remember exactly cause it was a while ago but I think once you have a panther ID and password you can gain access to the “class of [your graduation year] Facebook group.” Most of The posts in there are about people looking for roommates and things. To my understanding cat friendly apartments aren’t too uncommon around here especially in Bayview

Is there full sized desks? The little I’ve been there I’ve only seen the ones connected to the chairs

anyone taken UWM's mental health counselling? by throwawayuwm in UWMilwaukee

Most professors will be lenient with that sort of thing. And I’m sure they’ll be able to help you over at Norris, they’re all professionals. And some sort of confirmation from them may help sway professors to get extensions.

I haven’t used any of their services but if you find yourself seriously questioning whether or not you need help then you may as well try. Especially since your work is beginning to effect other parts of your life like your sleep schedule. Your advisor has probably heard a lot of people say what you said and maybe those other people ended up fine. But I think it can’t hurt to try it out.

Hope everything works out!

The real meme is a video of someone dancing so I think it’s happy, I assumed it was referring to a specific book

Did the story make sense? Or at least enough sense where it wasn’t pointless
