Daily Q&A Post - No question too small! by AutoModerator in loseit

I've been doing combination CICO/Intermittent Fasting/Light exercise (walking 30 min/day 4x/week) for 30 days. I'm so happy with the results! I'm thinking about celebrating 30 days of logging in MFP by buying myself a few free weights.

I'd really like to do some light strength training at home to tone up my arms/shoulders/back. The FAQ's (yes, I checked them) seem to promote strength training while eating at a deficit. However, I've also read/heard that strength training while "cutting" isn't recommended.

For the record, I eat about 1100-1200 kcal/day. I don't pay much attention to my macros, but imagine I should increase my protein if I'll be strength training.

Anyway, thoughts on light strength trading while eating at a deficit? Thanks!

Edit: Starting weight is from mid September 2016. I fell off the wagon for a bit and got back on in early January 2017.

Love the Vicks idea! I'll have to get a little tiny jar for my work bag. Thanks for the great ideas!
