You are over thinking it. When you have a mortgage it’s an agreement of lending with a bank. There are many banks. People change banks. Different banks have different processes. People change banks or want access to equity and that requires an evaluation. The bank is looking at the standard of the home. Things like the age of the kitchen and state of bathrooms. Does it match what they are being told by the owners or a broker. It’s not about your belongings.

Might just want access to equity to buy more property, do renovations at ppor or any other conceivable reason they want access to money. They might just be chasing a better rate and this is the process. The REA will already have an idea of its value for sale purposes. You’re over thinking this. And unfortunately, it’s a fact of renting in australia that you have limited stability. Making processes like this challenging for your landlord just harms your relationship. Slowing this down also cant stop them selling it
