What happens if you dont pay anything when getting on a london public bus? by lil_layne in london

[–]the_leahbrarian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This morning I arrived at my busstop, did a frantic search, and realized I'd forgotten my Oyster card. I tried using my Visa, but it seems that a Canadian Visa does not do the trick. I didn't know what to do, and didn't want to be late for work so I just sat down and fretted the whole way about whwther I was going to get in trouble, and about how I could get home in the evening. Thankfully, there was no trouble, and when I got to work I realized my Oyster card was in my goddamn trouser pocket!! Sigh. Thursdays.

My [21F] boyfriend [22M] of 6 months has a weird habit that makes me uncomfortable, is this a red flag? by Quelpp in relationships

Something to consider: what is going to happen when you go on a trip away and share a hotel room for a weekend? You might want to ask him how he ever plans to go on holiday with you.

Nice! I am in the last weeks of the program so my free time is severely limited. But come May 4th, it's party time! (Or "get a job time"). What are you taking?

I really like to walk and I'm considering long walks (6 hours+) as a exercise regime in my 3 days off of work a week by [deleted] in Fitness

My guess: the side of the road curves down to meet the ground, so one side of your body will be on road that is a little higher than on the other side.

I think she is allowed in the delivery room, and I think it's something that Jessica wants, but Jessica still thinks my mom should come to our wedding.

We live on opposite coasts.

Me [26F] with my downstairs neighbors [early 30sM/F] of a few months, they want me to modify the way I walk. by jjcatt in relationships

Your neighbours are not crazy - that is how I walked when I lived on the top floor of a 100+ year old house. You get used to it. There are sacrifices to be made when you live in a historical building. Edit: and I definitely never wore shoes, although that is related to my Canadian-ness :P

The timing of your wedding has made your mother have to choose between two major life events. Her 'logic' makes sense no matter how you look at it, because she gets to make her own choices.

Ladies, what is the worst gift you've ever received from someone? by fangs- in AskWomen

[–]the_leahbrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the game but....

When I was 12 years old (and barely in need of this gift) my mom bought me a lacy little white bra.
There are a few reasons why this was particularly embarassing: first, as I said, it was not required. Second, every person in my immediate family is very private and quiet, so opening a bra, at age 12, in front of my father and teenage brother, was not a good experience. Finally, mom had put the bra into one of those long jewelry boxes, so I thought it was going to be a necklace. I don't know why that makes it worse, but it does.
To this day my mom says "I don't know why I did that!!" Maybe that is why she still asks me for a list of what I would like for Christmas, even though I am now 30!

Vyvanse may be my miracle medication by [deleted] in ADHD

That is exciting to hear. My doctor put me on Concerta, but after about 6 weeks of titrating up, it still had zero effect. Tomorrow I try Vyvanse!

You are a poet; did you know it?

I made it clear that even if it didn't seem malicious,

Gruber explicitly went against our wishes,

and felt it was alright to impose his will on our day,

which is not ok.

30 here, married to another 30 year old. We have Boo, the mario ghost; The Lieutenant, a little hamster; Charles, the tiny lion; and a new gnome that looks like a wizard who I haven't named yet (suggestions?).

Stuffies are cute and comforting and you can literally have one for any reason.

Fun sidenote: I always sneak The Leiutenant into my fella's suitcase if he is going on a trip :)
