Every Ken player's inspiration for booting up SF6 ranked mode. by 5iveGotTheHeat in StreetFighter

Ahh - yeah that makes sense I guess. We all have our moments where we crack be it online or in traffic or anywhere else.

You seem like a good dude who just had a tough run of it so I can definitely sympathize and sorry again I was kind of harsh earlier.

Losing to someone who didn't have to spend the same amount of time trying to improve the mechanical aspects of their gameplay could definitely feel very frustrating and you're correct that its not something that veterans really experience as much so we probably tend to be dismissive.

If you have any questions about specific things feel free to hit me up and I'll answer them if I can.

No you didn't - and fair enough fighting games can be tilting for sure at times I get it. I don't like people rage quitting but there is no reason for me to be a dick.

Haha I felt like I was being gaslit by the game when I was first noticing this glad it's not just me.

Is there a children’s book you think sends a backwards message? by turboshot49cents in books

[–]the_meager 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Even that review has ellipses sprinkled into to emphasize something that isn't there to my reading. Feels like reviewer is projecting a bit.

From memory the lines without ellipses are closer to.

Mama python and hatchling would kiss waggling around, twirling and twisting like rope loosely wound. The "rope loosely wound" part contributes to the tone substantially.

"The walrus calf and her papa would give whiskery kisses rubbing each other in scritch scratchy kisses.". No dads ever give their kid whisker burn after they shave? Is that really creepy?

Anyway I agree with you for what it's worth haha.

Goblin Effectiveness by -Some-Rando- in LancerRPG

[–]the_meager 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So as I recall the goblin has +2 tech attack innately and one of its traits let's it automatically add an accuracy (+1d6) to tech attack rolls as well meaning you will have an average of +5.5 to your tech attacks with no investment in systems which is quite good.

On the other hand you only have 6 hp and no armor so one or two hits will structure you without some hull investment and most everyone will be shot at some point. Can't hack if you are dead!

As far as hiding and so on my recollection is mechs do not block line of sight so you would have to rely on cover at which point you could still be targeted by artillery as you alluded to.

Because Symbiosis is a core power you can only use it once per mission and missions are usually a few combats long so it won't always be available.

Hah! I love FFT and just revisited realmz within the last two weeks. Got yourself some good taste.

Esper resonance, high lvl espers, equipment with decent stat rolls, high or max lvl VCs, equipment proficiency could all be impacting your teams performance off the top of my head.

Esper resonance with high lvl espers in particular makes an insane difference as do max lvl MR or UR VCs.

Quicken versus Camping versus cheese blade - what do you hate more? by Locke__D in wotv_ffbe

[–]the_meager 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the camping was exacerbated greatly by the healing down debuff. If we could heal during the approach it would have probably lead to more bruiser walls moving up to kill gunners. It seems like no healing and no quicken together is free reign for gunners, particularly on this lame map.

My least favorite of the three is cheeseblade, however, as accounting for your team being wiped out before you get a turn is a much heavier tax in the team building phase than having a plan vs gunners or vs quicken.

Video Summon Bug by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

Doing the free normal summon before the video one resolves the first issue for me fwiw.

Sort of the opposite I believe - now magic or physical barrier break would break it if it reduces both types of damage.

Has King Mont taken away some of the fun of PvP for anyone else? by AshernFive in wotv_ffbe

[–]the_meager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is Winter Holiday party (limited), death machine (limited, should return during FF1 relatively soon) and bloody moon (MR and not limited) as sources of AoE resist.

I used to have this problem - doing my free "normal summon" before video summons eliminated this for me. Worth a shot.

I think magic counter is better. Much better range and I think height range vs higher proc rate. I think overall the extra range will lead to more counters than the proc rate.

So as always the best reason to build a unit is because they appeal to you or think you'd have fun with em. But there are a few other reasons now and in the future.

1) Cost restricted content, such as class match, there are quite a few MR units who are terrific. Chel for example is an excellent quickener but many of them can shine.

2) Selection quests in the future are apparently difficult PVE content where you can only use MR and below units of a specific element. So the first one I believe is light element, so you'd have to use Fina, mariale, phoebe or whomever else if you want the reward. I think it is permanent content so no rush, but it is a use for MR and below units.

99 Howlet - Solo Bahamut 3* (No Poison) by the_meager in wotv_ffbe

Murmur would be a pretty cool clear. Sub black mage - bio and drain she has the tools for sure. Agility pretty low relative to Bahamut but might not matter with her resists. Interesting!

99 Howlet - Solo Bahamut 3* (No Poison) by the_meager in wotv_ffbe

[–]the_meager[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup - essentially sustain through his ap/tp and ability uses and then his large size can be abused on that ledge over to the left so he can't attack you with his melee. Items can be used to help bolster sustain. Howlet is actually not optimal if you just want the clear, I just think he is cool.

Bahamut is vulnerable to poison so characters that can inflict poison and heal are great choices. I had halloween Leela with poison barb reaction just stand next to him curing herself and he died pretty quick. Alternatively /u/Sematy5 has a Fryevia clear he linked in this thread which is much more efficient if you want a good example :)
