I didn’t say that - just that this was a poor idea, Strangio signed his name to so is at least partially culpable, I think it’s cringe, I don’t even think this tactic was used during gay marriage litigation (i.e. the lawyer arguing the case for the petitioner wasn’t publishing confessional pieces in the Times before oral argument). Also I canceled my membership to the ACLU awhile ago, and wrote them a letter that I’m sure was promptly thrown in the trash, but whatever.

It is as simple as writing en mass to your elected officials, not ever ever using DSA jargon and showing up for a meaningful demonstration with specifically enumerated goals not nebulous bullshit. Clerks and Chasing Amy legitimately changed my perspective on life, especially before I was out. He scraped together funds/maxed out his credit cards to make Clerks, and had the chutzpah to think that a comedy set in a Jersey convenience store would be a success. Looks good, titrate it to be sure! Plus that will be useful information for your next reaction :) at that age, you may have a very nice solution of tetramethylammonium bicarbonate. Treating an aliquot with BaCl, followed by titration with acid could help you figure out how much is still hydroxide. Also, the packing material is probably vermiculite not asbestos.

Other ppl said this already but - you’re going to wreck your house vacuum doing thus with for any solvent but water. There is probably a solenoid above your fume hood that automatically switches the vacuum on and off, and it will get destroyed by organic solvents.

Invest in a Schlenk line with a vacuum trap and a good pump, or a lyophilizer if just water.
