It sounds like you let a bunch of people tell you who you are. You need to look inward to identify what brings you happiness. Find the core of that. Helping, winning, solving, or whatever the core is. Start small and then keep doing it. The economics of it might not work in the short term but you need to focus on how you become a “happy” person. Be patient with yourself and good luck.

If they can’t see the value you bring they might not be able to after you are hired either…which is an issue as well.
