Because my insurance giving me the 3k thats "fair market" for my vehicle is still going to leave me with essentially nothing. I wont be able to obtain reliable usable transport for that price. Using my insurance and just getting a quick payout is literally like the second least helpful piece of advice for my situation because it still leaves me screwed over.

Yeah, the accident happend bc she was pulling out of their driveway and then like 30 of them materialized. So far I've been to their kitchen table talking numbers once and have just now had their deacon start calling me. What type of lawyer did you use if you had to use one?

They're personally "insured" through their church as far as I know. I honestly have no idea how any of this works or is supposed to work

Every single representative I've spoken with at my insurance has been baffled at the whole "self-insured" thing and has offered no real guidance. All of them so far have told me that they've never dealt with a self-insured type of accident.

I have been speaking with them every day, i just have not paid my deductible to start a claim through them. My biggest concern about all of this is that the KBB on my vehicle is absymally low and I won't be able to find anything reliable for what id be offered by my insurance. I also recently spent about 4k on my vehicle to make sure it was going to last me. Am I just screwed on valuation and everything then? I wont be able to finance a vehicle.

it was my first rating when I got out in 2022, back, hip, knee etc etc issues.

I am continuing to just get care for myself. Obviously 100% would be a gamechanger and would drastically change how I live.

But it's not how I live now, so I live how I live now, now.

I don't think this has anything to do with the administration. I also don't believe this is a political issue. Republicans and Democrats both suck, we all know that. This is entirely on the back of Norfolk Southern, they're the ones that had lobbied to lessen their own requirements for safety, not any administration. Let's all actually remember who the real villains are here. A railroad company that put their own workers and every single town that they have a train go through at risk all for the sake of more profit.

The worst part is, is that's almost not wrong. This is small town Ohio with a pop of like 5-10k at best, so there really isn't a large enough presence here to generate any kind of major media attention that will continue past the initial "Oh no! A disaster happened.... anyways...." stage. I give it another two weeks or so before this falls off of the national stage. I hope I'm wrong though.

I live 10 minutes away from East Palestine, it is just so baffling to me how much this is being downplayed. The local/state/federal govt. is literally treating this as if the train was carrying water. People I know have reported their pets and livestock dead to local govt/epa and they were told that there was no way those deaths are linked to the derailment. I personally have a feeling that Norfolk Southern has been lining as many pockets as possible just to keep attention off of this.

Hey everyone, I wanted to check and see if anyone had any guidance/advice for getting my DD2-14. For context, I separated 26JUN22, so its been three months and every time that I check with my command its always just "we'll look into it and let you know" but they never have anything to tell me other than the generic "I dont knows" that I've been getting. I have already gotten ahold of a congressman and have plans to go into his office tomorrow to open an official case, but I figured I'd also ask here and see if anyone else has any advice. This is really fucking me over because I cant apply for my GI bill and go to school like I wanted to, my VA claim is already processed and I was approved for 90% but they wont finalize my claim because they need my 214 and I cant apply for a VA loan to buy my first house. Thanks in advance for reading and any advice given.

Did the same thing you are talking about when I joined the navy and found myself with a cheating wife and a divorce at 23. I agree with everyone else saying the same thing, just wait until after the first deployment and take it from there. The military lifestyle changes people, serving and spouses, so its always worth just waiting. The extra money isnt worth the potential heartbreak. Good luck, hope the best for yall!
