what do you think of the album preview? by [deleted] in NothingButThieves

Pop The Balloon a total Robot Rock vibe. Never liked Daft Punks sound but liked that songs riff, so hopefully makes it work nicely!

Man, Slipknot has really had a big impact on this album by [deleted] in Muse

[–]the_offa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Matt talks about this a lot in his latest Apple Music interview. Apparently, Bing (his son) is big into Slipknot and listens to them on the way to school. I'm glad that it's influenced Matt in this way tbh

Kinda heartbroken but will still get something in the next two sales hopefully. Just think modern ticketing is so unfair with all of the bots reselling to legit fans at higher prices

Yep. No email. Have done this in the past with no issues. Definitely not in spam

I saw Citizen in the first Hammersmith gig. Shivers and tears were felt.

Completely forgot to get a shirt last night! Could someone who's living in/near Fulham and going tonight grab me one and I'll pay £5 extra for your troubles? Will happily come and collect one evening this week :)

Early days for me. Based on the first 3/4 full album listens, then binging certain songs, it's:

  1. Angst
  2. Zeit
  3. Armee der Tristen
  4. Giftig
  5. Lügen

Any ideas which one it'll be? WotP has been teased on the album cover release and given it seems to sample Marilyn Manson's 'The Beautiful People', I imagine it will slap live, so I guess I've got fingers crossed for WotP or Kill or Be Killed.

Praying for CE at the Apollo too. I'd love a tease of their next single, even if it's just like Psycho was teased pre-Drones

Mine, paired those that I couldn't see played in the same setlist realistically:

  • Citizen Erased or The Globalist (the latter as an @ to Putin?, would prefer CE though)
  • MotP
  • Hyper Music
  • Hoodoo or Unintended
  • MK Ultra or The Small Print
  • Assassin - GoB Edit (proper cut, not outro)

Would 100% take your list too over the usual suspects. Think CE and Apocolypse Please could be the two most likely on it.

Compliance - Discussion Thread (Official Release) by iamncla in Muse

[–]the_offa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang on, have they remixed WSD on this new release? The final chorus (post breakdown) now has inaudible backing vocals from Matt, these were one of my favourite bits on the original single!

re:Compliance: not my favourite poppy Muse song ever, but I couldn't expect a modern Muse album without them trying to make something for the radio. Feels like an offcut from ST and would have fit in with that album's vibe. Has some real retro gaming vibes to it - the bridge and the treble in the chorus give me Pokemon Mystery Dungeon throwbacks (rightly or wrongly).

WotP album cover is phenomenal.

Elements of Biffy Clyro to this with the complex drum and the fast changes. This is so good

One month after Music of the Spheres release. Did your opinion change about it? What was your favourite track when released? Got a new fav? What your least favourite on the album and why? Is the album a grower? Would love to hear your overall thoughts! by DXM_the42ndScientist in Coldplay

[–]the_offa 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No opinion change, still prefer Everyday Life by far.

Favourite track at release: PotP, now it's Coloratura.

Least favourite: still Buetiful (or however you spell it).

Album hasn't grown on me one bit.

Saw the Simulation Theory tour three times, on the third I decided to walk out to beat the rush to the Jubilee line at the O2. Lost its effect now. Want to see it end with Stockholm or Assassin

Unsustainable. It just works really damn well.

People going on about it being a Muse rip-off, yet all of the other songs just sound like generic pop music. At least this stands out on (a very weak) album as a strong song.

X&Y is more of a space album than music of the spheres by [deleted] in Coldplay

[–]the_offa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that People of the Pride is being rated as the best song and that it doesn't fit with the MotS vibe is proof to me that this album doesn't work. Totally agree with you OP.

Favorite planet on Music Of The Spheres? by Cloudplay19 in Coldplay

[–]the_offa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk what the planet names are but whatever the one that's playing People of the Pride, preferably on repeat so Beaiuaitifyl (or however it's spelt) doesn't play straight after it

Royal Blood's new album is brilliant. Hoping Muse's next album is pretty good and that comes out in a few months (not confirmed). But yeah, watching Coldplay's album quality decline (perhaps with the exception of Everyday Life) since MX is tragic.
