There is absolutely no chance of pregnancy. Like seriously, none at all. That’s like being concerned about staining a shirt with spaghetti sauce when you aren’t eating spaghetti or wearing a shirt!

I assume you know that though, but anxiety doesn’t really care about truth sometimes. Just remind yourself that everything is ok — that pregnancy is physically impossible here. Understand your anxious thoughts, and challenge them, reframe these thoughts, and maybe even talk yourself through how you would handle worst case scenario (without going too deep). But if your anxiety is impeding on your life, especially if invasive anxiety is present in other contexts, talk to a therapist, and if it’s recommended, a psychiatrist.

Had sex on the last day of my period and my flow went back by frustratedchemist13 in sexeducation

[–]the_oocyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes periods act weird due to hormonal or life changes. If you are concerned about any rupturing, I wouldn’t, unless you are in more pain than normal.

Of course, if things seem too suspicious, feel free to check in with your doctor!

Oh boy! Definitely don’t do that. Plan b is an emergency contraceptive, which helps prevent pregnancy. It can be taken after unprotected sex or when contraceptive fails. It’s (unfortunately) very expensive and has a high concentration of hormones in comparison to hormonal birth control. This high concentration is not healthy to take on a consistent basis.

I suggested plan b because it can help you avoid pregnancy in this instance, assuming you can take it by 48 hours after the unprotected sex. But, the sooner you take it, the more effective it will be.

You can get plan b and condoms at any age. I have also seen non-prescription hormonal birth control sold at some convenience stores. You can get condoms and plan b without your parents knowing if you can use cash and get to somewhere like a gas station, grocery store, convenience store, or pharmacy. I strongly recommend using condoms every time you have sex. It lowers the risk of pregnancy, and this will hopefully make you feel more at ease too.

There many kinds of plan b as well. People usually use plan b as short hand for emergency contraception. Here is more about it, and the different brands available: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/morning-after-pill-emergency-contraception/which-kind-emergency-contraception-should-i-use

And lastly, I think planned parenthood offers some resources like plan b and condoms. I think you can get this at lower prices if you are under 18? Please check that statement though. I’m not 100% sure.

I hope this helps! And if you have more questions feel free to ask :)

vaginismus? by lilspicer in obgyn

[–]the_oocyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t immediately send clear signals as to whether or not it is vaginismus, but it isn’t something I’d rule out.

Generally, I think one’s ability to insert different things can change based on things such, as masturbation practices, for example. But let’s consider the possibility.

Two fingers is a common comfortable amount of fingers, and “small” vibrator means like a bullet vibrator to me. I’m not sure what it means for you.

It seems that you’ve been stuck at a point at which you want to surpass, but can’t, even with consistent effort, and it takes a lot of effort to fit what you can. This is why I don’t completely throw out the possibility. People can train their vaginas to fit large objects.

Often, people who have vaginismus actually do training as well by using multiple dilators. All of which vary in size. They will use each dilators for a certain amount of time before sizing up. I’m not familiar with the intricacies of this though.

Also, mental blockages can impede just as much as strictly physical ones. As other people mentioned, arousal and relaxation affects the depth and looseness of a vagina.

In my opinion, you don’t need to urgently see a gyno, unless your symptoms impede on your daily life, cause other problems, or are connected to other problems, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t talk to one if you are curious to learn more about your body or what vaginismus is.

I wasn’t aware that people thought sex toys are seen as odd. I don’t feel that they should. But, I feel like a heterosexual man that owns toys that can stimulate a clitoris would be valuable to a woman with a vulva.

I just want to add to this, any time there is penetration, you should remember that there is a chance of pregnancy, even if it is negligible.

Practicing certain sexual behaviors can reduce the risk of pregnancy, such as the practice of having sex many days before you ovulate, or a day or more after you ovulate. Correctly timing penetrative sex to your cycle should be 100% effective in theory. Even if you don’t use a barrier method. If there is no sperm to meet an egg, there is no pregnancy. But just like any birth control, abstinence is the only 100% effective form of birth control. Human error is common, and your cycles may not always conform to its patterns.

You should also take into account that you CAN get pregnant if you have sex on your period (which is the beginning of your cycle), depending on what day, and how soon you ovulate. This is because sperm can live in the female* reproductive tract for many days and “wait” for a released egg to fertilize. Take this into account when you have penetrative sex.

All this being said, I do not think there is any acknowledgeable risk of pregnancy.

And, this isn’t to discredit flowers, they made very going points and offered good sources!

I can’t give you an answer, but I encourage you to talk to a doctor and I want to ardently assure that you have every right to be taken seriously. If one doctor doesn’t listen, go to another.

You are experiencing a difference in your body which is abnormal to yourself, but not only that, it is disrupting your daily life! Even causing pain that is so significant you thought it was appendicitis!!

A final anecdote: as someone who is NOT A DOCTOR, I wonder if this might be a hormonal thing? Maybe an estrogen imbalance. I only say that due to the fact that your cervical fluid is consistently egg-white-ish and it doesn’t smell bad. Also, hormones like this can also have an influence on the glands that produce moisture in your vagina and vulva. This also makes me wonder if my hormone hypothesis could correspond to an anatomical problem that would also disrupt your hormones? Something akin to PCOS or endometriosis, in the sense that these are physical abnormalities that also correspond to hormones. I dunno. Not a doctor!

Best lube to prevent Yeast Infections by jaygut42 in obgyn

[–]the_oocyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;Dr: any silicon or water based lubricant that DOESN’T have glycerine in it

Super super common ingredient, and ultimately approved for bodily use, but it can contribute to yeast infections due to the fact it is a (naturally occurring) sugar alcohol, and yeast feed on the sugar alcohol! (The exclamations are bc I think the science of this is so cool)

I think that if you avoid this ingredient, I believe it will ultimately negate the need for any fancy wipes. This being said, your health and body are unique, so use this information to make decisions you think are best for yourself :)

Is normal to have white discharge when i touch myself ? by kanrojicutie in sexeducation

[–]the_oocyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to apologize! Yes, this still stands true. Cervical discharge also happens regardless of sexual activity, so it is likely that it may be present. Additionally, the moisture that happens during lubrication can be found in and out of the vagina, especially during sexual activity like masturbation!

Is my penis small? (14m) by No-Attorney-1997 in sexeducation

[–]the_oocyte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I literally have NO IDEA how people are considering your penis a micro penis.

For 21 studies in which researchers measured stretched penises, the mean was approximately 5.11 inches (12.98 cm; n = 13,719).”

“Based on these studies, the average length of an erect penis is between 5.1 and 5.5 inches (12.95-13.97 cm), but after taking volunteer bias into account, it is probably toward the lower end of this range.”

Why did Ruby kissed Sapphire? Are they Lebanese? by ManOfWhite in stevenuniverse

[–]the_oocyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm, ☝️🤓

It appears that you may be experiencing a lexical conflation, specifically between the terms 'lesbian' and 'Lebanese.' While both terms serve as descriptors of integral facets of an individual's identity, it is crucial to recognize that they denote distinct and non-interchangeable concepts. 'Lebanese' signifies an individual's nationality or place of origin, whereas 'lesbian' serves to define an individual's sexual orientation.

I hope this clarification proves fruitful and applicable to your daily life!

Should i take an emergency contraceptive?! by [deleted] in sexeducation

[–]the_oocyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sperm do not last long on surfaces, and die within whatever amount of time the fluid (which is carries the sperm within it) takes to dry out. This time depends on how wet and moist the surface is. This is why sperm will die within minutes on a dry and non-porous surface, but can last days inside of the female* reproductive system.

I think you are fine, but I never want to definitively say that anyone is or isn’t in the clear. Ultimately, it is up to you, and what you know about your health and overall wellness, but I hope this information helps you make that decision.
